Resilience1220 empowers young people to build resilience, strength, and the tools to master life's challenges.

Resilience1220 provides free counseling services to youth ages 12-20 in the mountain communities west of Denver. Through individual counseling, support groups and community outreach, we work to raise awareness of the social, emotional, and mental-health issues young adults face, and to provide the necessary life skills to create wellness and resiliency in their lives.

Four years ago, our mountain communities faced the reality of three teen suicides. We were made painfully aware of the mental health issues that young people face and the lack of life saving resources accessible to them. Resilience1220 was founded by a group of local therapists and community members. They worked tirelessly to break down barriers to neighborhood mental health resources and the social stigmas around seeking care. We provide confidential counseling services to youth ages 12 to 20 years old at no cost. Our service area includes Evergreen, Conifer, Bailey, Clear Creek, Gilpin, and Park counties.

Counseling sessions with Resilience1220 teach stress-reduction techniques, tools to ask for and provide help, validation, a place to sort through belief systems, and a non-judgmental place to share their feelings.

RISE helps Boulder County youth at-risk of suicide by removing the financial and social barriers to treatment.

Rise Against Suicide (RISE) was founded in 2009 to support the growing number of youth in Boulder County experiencing suicidal ideation. As a board governed 501C3, RISE’s only program is to provide free therapy sessions for youth at risk for suicide. With 26 licensed therapists in our provider cohort, RISE has provided nearly 1,800 youth with access to over 12,000 free therapy sessions since 2009.

We are all familiar with the sensory aspects of day-to-day life. Our brains and bodies are processing sensory information all the time and as this sensory information moves through our nervous system it shapes how we feel and respond throughout the day. Every body has to process sensation in order to stay alive, function and make meaning of the world. How our brain interprets sensory information impacts our physical health, mental health, and general wellness. Sensory processing can influence every area of life including our preferences in diet, exercise, relationships, career, and our hobbies.

STAR Institute is the international leader for research, treatment, and education related to sensory integration and processing. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we are dedicated to improving mainstream awareness of sensory health and to providing life-changing support and resources for individuals and families across the lifespan. STAR Institute supports all areas of sensory health including mental health, school success, child development, parenting, relationships, and vocational success. For some, disordered sensory processing profoundly impacts daily functioning. However, many differences in sensory processing do not need to be disabling. **THE PROJECT**

**KIDS INC.** has developed and is launching the first family friendly safe social platform and app, *"**[kidsinc.ONE](https://kidsinc.one/)**",* offering many of the same features as other popular apps but is a much safer **porn-free alternative for youth,** where users privacy is the primary focus. No tracking, no keylogging, no collecting/selling of children's data.

**USE OF FUNDS RAISED**

Funds raised will be used for capital expenses, which include purchasing a building to host our own servers and studios, purchasing server hardware, software and network technology, licensing games and movies, sponsoring youth creators, hiring moderators, server management, electricity, insurance, livestream expenses, staffing and administration. Additional funds will be allocated to create and provide online safety education to parents, schools and directly to youth.

**WHY IT'S CRITICALLY IMPORTANT**

**Social Media and Youth Mental Health:** The U.S. Surgeon General’s Advisory Social media use among young people is nearly universal, with up to 95% of teenagers, and even 40% of children aged 8-12, on social media.  Despite this widespread use among children and adolescents, we do not yet have enough evidence to determine ***if social media use is sufficiently safe for them—especially during adolescence, a particularly vulnerable period of brain development.***
