Education Through Music-Los Angeles provides sequential comprehensive music as a core subject in under-resourced schools in order to nurture students' social-emotional wellness, academic achievement, motivation for school, creativity, and overall development. We partner with Los Angeles County school districts and leaders to implement school-wide music programs, including music instruments, curriculum, dedicated music teachers, ongoing teacher training, and community engagement for long-term sustainability. Fight mass incarceration by paying bail for Americans and offering needed support. We believe that paying bail for someone in need is an act of resistance against a system that criminalizes race and poverty and an act of solidarity with local communities and movements for decarceration. Over the next five years, The Bail Project will open dozens sites in high-need jurisdictions with the goal of paying bail for tens of thousands of low-income Americans, all while collecting stories and data that prove money bail is not necessary to ensure people return to court. We won’t stop until meaningful change is achieved and the presumption of innocence is no longer for sale.

Hispanas Organized for Political Equality® (HOPE) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to ensuring political and economic parity for Latinas through leadership, advocacy, and education to benefit all communities and the status of women.

HOPE® prepares and supports Latinas as civic leaders, advocates for policy changes that champion equity for Latinas, and educates the public on the experiences and contributions of Latinas to our economy and society. For 35 years, HOPE’s innovative programming has served 60,000 Latinas and touched the lives of several thousand more through our advocacy efforts.

Latinas come to HOPE with a vision for a brighter future, and they graduate from our programs with the skills, knowledge, confidence, and collective ability to transform their communities and the world.

Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE)

Cultivate philanthropists to invest in organizations that empower underserved Asian and Pacific Islanders (API).

APCF was founded in 1990 by API community leaders in response to the need for alternative funding for Los Angeles-based nonprofit organizations serving API communities. Prior to its incorporation, less than 0.3% of all local foundation funds went to API agencies, according to a 1988 study by AAPI Equality Alliance (formerly known as A3PCON - Asian Pacific Policy & Planning Council). In 1986, the United Way of Greater Los Angeles funded only five organizations serving APIs. To raise funds for community organizations serving API communities, APCF initiated employee giving campaigns at various workplaces, including private companies, federal agencies, state agencies, county agencies, city agencies, and nonprofit organizations.

In the past decade, APCF has diversified its fundraising efforts by developing other avenues for giving. With the growth of donor-advised funds, giving circles, grant making, scholarship funds, and capacity building initiatives, APCF has been able to cultivate philanthropy among APIs while providing multiple vehicles for donors to support the community.

As the only community-based fund serving API communities in Southern California since 1990, APCF is dedicated to increasing philanthropy amongst Asian Americans in order to build healthier communities, create a stronger unified voice, and develop leaders. Annually APCF and our 74 Network Agencies serve over 4.9 million people, over 82% of whom live at or below poverty income levels, in 47 API languages in addition to English and Spanish.

Women of Color Unite (WOCU) is a social action non-profit organization focusing on fair access, fair treatment and fair pay for women of color in all aspects of the entertainment and media industries.  This organization works towards these goals by creating self-sustaining long-term programs for:  Facilitating fair hiring practices; Fostering a more inclusive and diverse workplace environment; Promoting access for excluded content creators; Expanding audiences represented by those excluded content creators; Raise funds for WOCU to produce their own content; Hold events, seminars, workshops, panels and summits to get more women of color hired, fund their projects and distribute their content; Work with additional organizations to develop analytics of under-represented marginalized groups to better identify their needs; and, Help companies incubate talent and integrate them into their work force.
