Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue

Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue, based in Middlesex, North Carolina, is dedicated to providing compassionate care, comfort, and dignity to senior and medically fragile dogs in their final chapter of life. We rescue, rehabilitate, and place these often-overlooked animals in loving foster, hospice, or adoptive homes, ensuring they know safety, love, and kindness—no matter how much time they have left.

We work closely with local shelters and families who have lost a loved one but are unable to assume responsibility for their pets, offering a lifeline to dogs who would otherwise have nowhere to go. Our mission is to honor their lives, advocate for their needs, and give them the peace, joy, and second chances they so deeply deserve.

Ben, one of the four dogs needing help

Dentals needed for our senior dogs

💔 THIS is the part of rescue no one talks about… The part where our seniors are suffering silently, in pain every single day, because their mouths have been neglected for far too long. Today, we are asking for help 🐾 big help 🐾 because four of our precious seniors desperately need dentals, and the cost is overwhelming for a small rescue like ours. We simply don't have the money at this time. We need to raise $4,000 so these deserving souls can finally live without pain. 🐾 LUCY & RICKY They joined us after their owner passed away. They didn’t just lose their mom they lost the only world they knew. Lucy flinches when a hand is raised because of past abuse, and Ricky is still learning how to trust again. Both desperately need dentals so they can finally eat without discomfort as they start this new chapter of their lives. 🐾 COOKIE Cookie came to us from a homeless encampment over a year ago, where she lived on scraps and spoiled food. So far, no one has shown any interest in adopting her but she is in a loving foster home. She is just 9 years old and only 8 lbs, but her mouth tells the story of years of neglect. She’s had enough suffering in her life. She deserves relief, comfort, and a pain-free future. 🐾 BEN Our sweet stray, a 10-year-old blind Shih-tzu who wandered until someone showed him kindness. Ben is heartworm positive and already facing a long, difficult treatment. On top of that, he has severe dental disease — another layer of pain on a dog who has already fought too many battles alone. 💔 Four seniors. Four lives in pain. Four dogs who cannot fix this themselves. Dental disease doesn’t just hurt; it can kill. And every day we wait puts them at greater risk. We know times are tough. We know $4,000 is a lot. But together, dollar by dollar, we can give them the medical care they desperately need. Every $5, $10, or $20 gift brings us one step closer to ending their pain. If you can’t donate, please share . Our seniors are counting on the kindness of strangers because kindness is all they have left. 🐾

Rescued from euthanasia with a Grade 4 heart murmur

🌟 Meet Tinkerbell 🌟 This tiny 4-month-old Maltese may be small in size, but her story is already huge in heart. 💔 Tinkerbell came to us as a breeder surrender because she was born with a Grade 4 heart murmur. The breeder’s plan? Euthanasia. But thankfully, our fearless leader Terri—unlike Nancy Reagan—just can’t say “no.” And thank goodness for that. 💕 Tinkerbell is NOT available for adoption at this time. She is safe and sound in a loving foster home, where she’s being closely monitored as we prepare for the next steps in her care. Tinkerbell has been seen at the NC State Veterinary Hospital. While the team there absolutely adored her (who wouldn't?), we received some tough news. Tinkerbell needs heart surgery. She has a serious hereditary heart murmur—something that responsible breeding could have prevented. But instead of care, love, or accountability, her breeder’s solution was to toss her aside like she didn’t matter. 💔 Well, she does matter—to us and to everyone who believes that every dog deserves a chance. The estimated cost of the surgery is between $5,000 and $7,000 . That’s far more than our small rescue can afford on our own, so we’re launching a special fundraiser to help cover Tinkerbell’s life-saving procedure. Every single dollar, every share, every bit of support helps bring us closer to giving Tinkerbell the care she needs. We’ll keep you updated on her journey. For now, send Tinkerbell your love. She’s already captured our hearts—we know she’ll capture yours, too. ✨ TinkerbellStrong #RainbowBridgeHospiceRescue #SeniorDogsRock #TinyButMighty #MalteseMagic
