TapIN Youth Dance Ensemble is dedicated to **expanding access to high-quality tap dance training in underrepresented communities**. We believe every child deserves the chance to experience the joy, discipline, and creative expression that come from rhythm and movement—regardless of financial or geographic barriers.

Through **free tap classes, school partnerships, mentorships, and performances**, TapIN builds a bridge between world-class tap education and the students who need it most. Our growing network includes ongoing enrichment programs at the East Oakland Youth Development Center, public school workshops, and collaborative showcases that bring students from diverse backgrounds together on the same stage.

Since our founding, TapIN has **collected over 500 pairs of tap shoes** for redistribution and raised **more than $18,000** through our annual Bay Area Tapathon to fund free community programming. Who we are

Fey Commons is a community and a social organism in constant evolution. It emerged from the meeting of *Les Amies du Feÿ* and *Fey Arts*, extending several years of experimentation around the living world, artistic creation, and collective practices.

We are not only an association. We are a field of experimentation where art, ecology, and research intersect to explore new forms of commons. We learn by doing, progress through testing and adjustment, and build from human relationships and our connection to the living world.

Fey Commons is for those who want to explore other ways of inhabiting the world, together and in relationship with nature.

Our concrete actions

**The agroforestry nursery**
We develop an agroforestry nursery producing young trees and shrubs adapted to the local territory. This nursery is the first concrete step toward a broader project of landscape regeneration, agroforestry, and biodiversity restoration.

**Ecological regeneration and applied ecology**
We organize participatory planting projects, ecological restoration initiatives, hands-on workshops, and public awareness activities focused on soils, water, trees, and biodiversity. We also collaborate with partners such as the LPO to support wildlife and bird protection initiatives.

**Research-action and territorial dynamics**
Fey Commons is engaged in research-action projects and territorial cooperation initiatives such as the Convergence of Possibles and Territoire Vivant Yonne. These projects aim to strengthen local cooperation, care for both human and non-human ecosystems, and experiment with new forms of collective organization, including work around the rights of nature.

**The Regen House**
The Regen House is the living heart of Fey Commons. It is a space for collective living, meetings, and experimentation that hosts residents, volunteers, artists, researchers, and project leaders. It supports collective life, public events, workshops, and gatherings such as the Rencontres Vivantes, creating the human infrastructure necessary for all other projects.

The funds will directly support the core activities of Fey Commons, with a strong focus on concrete, on-the-ground actions.

They will be used to develop and maintain the agroforestry nursery, including the production of young trees and shrubs adapted to the local territory, the organization of planting projects, and the coordination of volunteers and partners involved in reforestation and landscape regeneration.

The funds will also support ecological restoration actions such as participatory planting projects, biodiversity protection initiatives, soil and water regeneration workshops, and collaborations with partners like the LPO for wildlife and bird protection.

Impact

**How will or do you measure and determine the impact of your efforts?**

We assess our impact through a combination of qualitative and quantitative indicators, adapted to the nature of our work.

On the ecological level, we track measurable outcomes such as the number and diversity of trees produced and planted, habitat restoration efforts, biodiversity indicators including bird presence and nesting, and improvements in soil and landscape resilience over time.

On the social and collective level, we evaluate participation in workshops, planting projects, residencies, and events, as well as the durability of partnerships and the capacity of the community to self-organize and cooperate over time.

For research-action and territorial projects, impact is assessed through the emergence of new collaborations, the dissemination or replication of practices in other contexts, and the production of shared documentation, methodologies, and learning resources.

Beyond metrics, we also pay close attention to qualitative signals such as trust-building, long-term engagement, and meaningful shifts in how people relate to the living world and to one another.

The largest cultural institution in Switzerland, enjoying a high reputation far beyond the country’s borders. 

With over 300 events annually – opera, ballet, classical concerts, recitals – the Zurich Opera House is one of the most productive and renowned cultural venues in Europe. Each season the Zurich Opera House features numerous opera and ballet (world) premieres such as classical concerts and attractive revivals presenting casts with the best singers from all over the world.

The Zurich Opera House is home of the Ballet Zurich and the Orchestra of the Zurich Opera.

Donations are critical to the AFZOH’s success in achieving its ambitious goals on behalf of the Zurich Opera House. This includes among others tours and guest performances in the US, young artist exchanges between Switzerland and the US and the support of young American artists in Switzerland (education program).

ISHIDA Dance Company prompts existential questions through timeless narrative dance that celebrates universal themes of our psyche—belonging, hubris, loss and love.

ISHIDA Dance presents original ISHIDA poetic narratives as well as works by exciting new choreographers working with some of the most sought-after dancers around the world (Houston Ballet, Ballet BC, English National Ballet, Tanzmainz, Nederlands Dans Theater, American Ballet Theatre). These unique works evoke self-empathy that lead to greater kindness within the community.

Center to the mission, beyond beautiful, community-centric arts, ISHIDA brings the healing power of dance directly to marginalized communities.

- ISHIDA provides free dance workshops to at-risk youth and disabled people in the community. Outreach partners include The Mary Lee Foundation, The ARC of the Capital Area, and Title One schools: Marshall Middle and Northside High School.
- We also provide complimentary tickets to economically disadvantaged youth and adults to attend performances.

Kids’ Club supports underserved youth in our community by awarding grants for programs for kids from birth to age 18 and beyond. 

Kids’ Club of Tarrytown & Sleepy Hollow provides support for underserved youth.  As a community organization, we marshal resources, increase local awareness, advocate for programming, and strengthen services to improve the lives of children and families. We collaborate with a variety of community organizations to identify needs, close gaps in services and provide opportunities for children.

The World Children’s Festival (WCF) offers a transformative experience, infusing creativity with empathy to give them hope. As empathy flourishes, divisions diminish, polarization lessens, consensus emerges, nations come together, and the world becomes more peaceful. We do over 100 shows a year and we will never stop.

Ashe County Little Theatre is a nonprofit community theatre in West Jefferson, NC, offering live performances and arts education.

Ashe County Little Theatre (ACLT) is a nonprofit community theatre in Ashe County, North Carolina, dedicated to enriching our community through live performance, arts education, and creative opportunities for all ages. We produce a diverse season of plays, musicals, and special performances each year, providing a welcoming platform for local actors, directors, designers, technicians, and volunteers to share their talents both onstage and behind the scenes.

Our roots date back to before 1972, when a small group of theatre lovers came together to perform plays wherever space allowed. A key figure in these early efforts was Mrs. Elizabeth Barlow, an English and journalism teacher at Beaver Creek High School, who helped unite the group and produced many plays by local playwrights. Performances were held in Ashe County schools, with dinner theatre productions staged at the Greenfield Restaurant and Blue Ridge Elementary School. Props, costumes, and set pieces were stored in the basement of the Jon Marc Department Store, known today as Hometown Furniture.

In 1972, the group reorganized, began producing three to four shows a year, and officially became Ashe County Little Theatre. In June 1981, ACLT incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization under the General Statutes of North Carolina. For more than 50 years, ACLT has remained a vibrant part of the Ashe County community. Today, we proudly call the Ashe Civic Center, “The Home of the ACLT”, our performance space.

ACLT thrives because of community support. We offer ongoing volunteer and acting opportunities for people of all experience levels, fostering creativity, connection, and confidence. The Civic Circle empowers students students to understand and participate in democracy through music and the arts.

The Civic Circle launched in 2018 to empower low-income students with civic skills, lift youth voices through the arts, and close a well-documented equity gap in civic learning and engagement.

Since then, we’ve reached more than 5,000 underserved students with our after-school workshops, assembly shows and community civic events. The heart of our program is seven civic skills we call “steps to democracy”— Listen, Learn, Choose, Join, Speak, Act and Lead. In other words, be a compassionate, informed, engaged citizen.

Civic learning correlates to better school performance, and college and career readiness. Students in our programs do Social Studies and service-learning activities, and work with teaching artists to create and perform their own civic songs, poems, and art pieces. Along the way they build literacy, confidence, self-expression, and social and emotional skills.

Thanks to its unique collection and exhibition program, the Museum Ludwig has enjoyed long-standing ties with the USA. With the largest Pop Art collection outside of the United States, as well as a very large collection of contemporary US American artists, the museum has always had a special relationship with the USA.  

The International Society Museum Ludwig, which launched in 2018 as an affiliation of the Gesellschaft für Moderne Kunst am Museum Ludwig e.V., honors and furthers a tradition of exchange by helping the museum to expand its collection, supporting conservation projects and special exhibitions. Since its inception, the International Society has supported many important projects and hosted multiple events in New York.

The Museum Ludwig is an actively collecting institution as well as a generator of new art. It maintains close ties to private collectors and foundations and also works closely with artists from around the world to forge new developments in contemporary culture. Generating new scholarly insights when organizing exhibitions of well-established artists or publishing catalogues raisonnés in connection with mid-career surveys of contemporary artists are among its priorities.

Story House Ithaca brings people together to share, study, create, and enjoy stories in all their forms.

Story House Ithaca brings people together around stories. We define “story” very broadly, to include fiction and nonfiction, poetry and song, documentary, journalism, photography, audio, film, theater, puppetry, visual and performance art, graphics, dance, and every other way of communicating ideas and experience. Our definition of “house” is also broad. We hope eventually to settle into our own space, but for now we’re excited to be popping up around the community.

**The Problem**

Our society is going through a period of fracturing, as people of different socioeconomic, cultural, and educational backgrounds divide into ever more insular groups. One reason for this is a lack of opportunities for people to interact in meaningful and non-threatening ways. This has had disastrous consequences in politics, public health, and many other areas.
  
 **Our Approach**

- Story House creates. We dream up, organize, and present workshops, discussions, readings, talks, screenings, exhibitions, performances, participatory projects, and other activities. 
- Story House collaborates. We work with organizations, artists, activists, scholars, and others to plan and present compelling programming. 
- Story House connects. We help creative people and groups find new partners and reach new audiences. 
- Story House empowers. We help members of our community acquire the skills they need to tell the stories they want to tell.

In all our programs and activities, we are committed to creating inclusive spaces that welcome diversity. We strive to foster interactions between people of different cultures, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds, with the goal of working toward shared understanding and a more equitable, anti-racist society.
 
**Our Team**

Lesley Greene (co-director) is a producer, designer, writer, and director. She worked for many years at the Kitchen Theatre Company, where she curated and produced three performance series, created sound and projection designs, and served as chief grant writer and head of marketing. She is a co-founder and co-organizer of Porchfest, a festival that began in Ithaca in 2007 and now takes place in more than 150 cities across North America.
  
Jonathan Miller (co-director) is a writer, journalist, editor, radio producer, podcaster, and media project leader whose work has taken him to more than 20 countries. Since 2006, he has been executive director of Homelands Productions, an award-winning journalism collective that specializes in public radio features and documentaries. Jon serves on the board of Ithaca City of Asylum and coordinates the ONWARDS project, which seeks to help displaced writers, artists, human rights defenders, and scholars find stability in the USA.

Story House Ithaca

The Bay Area’s Adventure-Seeking Orchestra! We aim to make awesome orchestral adventures accessible to musicians and the public.

We hold free reading sessions about once a month. Part performance, part open rehearsal, we're open to all musicians and all audiences. Awesöme Orchestra Collective plays everything from Björk to Stravinsky in fun spaces all over the San Francisco Bay Area.

IT STARTED WITH A MUSICAL EXPERIMENT

In the spring of 2013, conductor David Möschler called up a bunch of Bay Area musicians for an experiment — an open music reading session, with Beethoven, Bolero, and free beer. Over fifty people showed up. They realized immediately that they had created something special: a musical group dedicated to being awesome and accessible on every level.

What began as a small collective of friends playing music together has grown into a community that spans the Bay Area. Today, over 2,000 local musicians have played in Awesöme Orchestra. We hope that you’ll join us at our next musical adventure as a player or an audience member!

We recognize that orchestras have long been complicit in the systemic oppression of marginalized communities while passing off this exclusion as "tradition." We are aware these inequalities are deeply systemic and will take years to undo, and our organization remains committed to combating these injustices with the following actions and goals:

Awesöme Orchestra Collective

Pollinator is a growing network of aligned peers.

The inaugural Pollinator Program launches in October of 2025.

The Pollinator Program is like a virtual residency of mutual support. Participants get matched with a small cohort of compatible peers, and work on your new website in good company.

**How it Works**

1. Get invited to join: All members are alumni from our network of vetted residencies, fellowships, and cultural institutions.
2. Match with an aligned peer circle: We place you in a dedicated cohort with five other members. These are your people. (One might even be your creative soulmate?)
3. Learn a new goal-setting method: Join video calls with your circle each week, guided by our curriculum.
4. Make real connections, and real progress: join the next Program cycle to continue cross-pollinating.

**Team**

We build collaborative technology for artists, by artists. We believe in the magic of human-to-human intelligence and see Pollinator as a way to strengthen cultural ecosystems through peer-to-peer connection.

Pollinator Co-Directors Caroline Woolard and Or Zubalsky are artists, educators, and technologists who have been collaborating for 15 years. From 2008-2018, they built and maintained TradeSchool.coop, an international peer-to-peer learning platform that was used in 30 cities internationally. Caroline Woolard is the co-founder of Art.coop, a national network of art and design cooperatives, and the co-author of Making and Being, a book about collaborative pedagogy. Zubalsky and Woolard have taught for over a decade at The New School, Rhode Island School of Design, Cooper Union, the School of Visual Arts, the University of New Mexico, Bennington College, George Washington University, and the University of Hartford. Zubalsky and Woolard got together to build Pollinator with a team of aligned engineers in 2024. The team at Minima has worked together since 2014 to deliver cutting-edge software-based solutions for corporate clients. Minima has built and managed widely used web, mobile, and server-side applications, including Apple's Music TV. Minima builds complex systems that scale, are maintainable, and cost effective. Minima prioritizes the end user across axes of accessibility, security, communication, and simplicity.

**Education From The Heart**

We believe education is more than knowledge, it’s the chance to create, express, and belong. Our fund opens doors for children through access to education, music, and art, while also empowering women in the arts to share their voices with the world.

At LPTM, Black and Brown boys express themselves; navigate life challenges; mentor their peers; and transform their communities.

Life Pieces To Masterpieces (LPTM) provides opportunities for Black and Brown boys and young men ages 3-25 to express themselves; navigate the challenges in their lives; teach and uplift others as mentors; and contribute positively to their communities. 

Boys enter the program as early as age three, with programming including a daily afterschool arts and education mentoring program from 3:00-7:00, which involves transportation and a meal, a college- and career-prep Saturday Academy for high school young men who also serve as mentors, a full-day six-week summer program, and family and community engagement. All programs are free for all youth and families. 

In all programs, LPTM provides an environment of love, security, and expression. Black boys and young men, from pre-school to grad-school and beyond, discover their authentic selves; awaken to a sense of purpose; have their brilliance and humanity valued and nurtured – and see themselves as the beautiful Masterpieces they are. In their artwork, advocacy, and model of mentorship, our Black boys and young men are protagonists of positive change.
