**Berkeley High School Jazz (BHS Jazz)** is a nationally recognized program in Berkeley, California, celebrating the rich heritage of Black American Music and its global influence. Founded in 1960, the program has grown to include five dynamic bands where students learn, perform, and find their voices through jazz. BHS Jazz nurtures musicianship, creativity, and community—whether students pursue music professionally or simply embrace it as a lifelong passion. The program’s ensembles have performed at prestigious festivals such as Montreux, North Sea, Monterey, and Mingus, earning top honors and international acclaim. Wonder Cabinet is a space for artistic production, social and cultural development in Bethlehem, Palestine.

**The Wonder Cabinet is a space for artistic production, education, social and cultural development inaugurated in Bethlehem, Palestine in May 2023.** 

As a non-for profit company for arts and culture, Wonder Cabinet fosters encounters among individuals and entities from different backgrounds and geographies to conceive and implement original research, educational, and community-building projects encompassing the visual and sound arts, artisanship, design and architecture, food, land-care and heritage, with an approach built on knowledge exchange and cooperative labor. 

Supported by a lively community and operating in collaboration with local and international partners, Wonder Cabinet centers creativity and collectivity to generate unexpected encounters in, with and around the space, with an original program of residencies, exhibitions, research projects, workshops, screenings, performances, listening sessions, lectures, culinary programs, land-care and community-based initiatives. 

The space - a new building designed by founders and architects Elias and Yousef Anastas (AAU Anastas, Local Industries) - comprises a production facility, artist studios, a multipurpose hall, a listening bar and food laboratory, a store, a sound production and Radio Alhara station, and a community garden. 

The Wonder Cabinet is committed to growing a network of collaborative relationships with individuals, private and public entities - local and international - to contribute to the design, sustainability, and implementation of its projects and programs.

The Bay Area’s Adventure-Seeking Orchestra! We aim to make awesome orchestral adventures accessible to musicians and the public.

We hold free reading sessions about once a month. Part performance, part open rehearsal, we're open to all musicians and all audiences. Awesöme Orchestra Collective plays everything from Björk to Stravinsky in fun spaces all over the San Francisco Bay Area.

IT STARTED WITH A MUSICAL EXPERIMENT

In the spring of 2013, conductor David Möschler called up a bunch of Bay Area musicians for an experiment — an open music reading session, with Beethoven, Bolero, and free beer. Over fifty people showed up. They realized immediately that they had created something special: a musical group dedicated to being awesome and accessible on every level.

What began as a small collective of friends playing music together has grown into a community that spans the Bay Area. Today, over 2,000 local musicians have played in Awesöme Orchestra. We hope that you’ll join us at our next musical adventure as a player or an audience member!

Kameie unites performing arts, community, rural renewal, and sustainability, hosting an international artist residency.

Kameie was founded in Parma, Italy, in May 2024, as a nonprofit association registered in the Italian National Third Sector Register (RUNTS). At its core is the conviction that performing and new media arts are powerful tools for reflection, able to impact communities, awaken belonging, transform relationships, and foster awareness of the connection with the natural and social environment.

The Association was born from the encounter of consolidated professional experiences in the performing arts sector, many of them matured within prestigious and highly structured institutions, but always with an acute awareness of the critical and complex nature of today’s socio-political context. Kameie brings these skills together, along with a deep cultural and civic consciousness, to create a project uniting vision with pragmatism. The project is rooted in the Parma Apennines, a territory of extraordinary natural and cultural wealth, yet fragile and at risk of depopulation. Here, Kameie has chosen to operate, enhancing a heritage of stories, memories, and traditions while intertwining them with a strong vocation for artistic and pedagogical experimentation.
Kameie’s mission is to foster personal and civic growth through the conscious practice and experience of the performing arts, while ensuring maximum accessibility and inclusion. The association aims to contribute to removing the obstacles that still prevent many citizens from fully experiencing art, culture, and beauty, while promoting an open, supportive, and respectful approach to all forms of life. The choice of the name is highly significant. “Kameie” comes from the imaginative Na’vi language of James Cameron’s Avatar, where the expression "oel ngati kameie" means “I see you”: not merely a greeting, but an act of mutual recognition and acceptance of the inner essence of every living being. This name reflects the Association’s vocation to build communities based on solidarity, to foster authentic bonds, and to promote a harmonious dialogue between human beings and nature. Environmental sustainability is an integral part of Kameie’s mission. Every project is designed in balance with natural resources, promoting respect for ecosystems and enhancing the Apennine environment where the association operates. Studying, producing, and experiencing the arts in a pristine natural setting enriches both creativity and personal growth. The Association also embraces a strongly humanistic and holistic approach, placing the individual, the community, and their relationship with nature at the center. This approach is reflected in its training programs, educational workshops, and artistic productions, supported also by the contribution of certified counselors among its members. At the same time, Kameie positions itself as a permanent laboratory to test and validate pedagogical programs designed to employ music and theatre as tools for cultivating “civic awareness.”

In just over one year of activity, Kameie has already built solid foundations. Today, it brings together sixty members, including international artists, musicians, university professors, professionals, naturalists, doctors, counselors, and educators, all motivated to contribute to the project. This community is a unique wealth of skills and relationships, the backbone of the organization.

At the same time, Kameie has established a local network of collaborations with schools, social services, municipal administrations, theaters, festivals, enterprises, and banking foundations. This shows the Association operates in a territory rich in potential meaningful partners. The Association also operates in an economically vibrant context, home to globally renowned companies such as Barilla (2024 revenues: €4.8 billion), Chiesi Pharmaceuticals (€3.4 billion), and Dallara, a leader in racing car engineering. These stakeholders have already expressed appreciation for Kameie’s vision and goals, offering concrete prospects for substantial future support. But Kameie was born and operates in an area extraordinarily rich in history and cultural traditions of international significance, the birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi, Arturo Toscanini, and Bernardo Bertolucci. Parma, with its legendary Teatro Regio and Verdi Festival, stands as a true cultural capital—well beyond opera.

The association has already acquired a starting real estate asset: a cluster of old rural stone buildings that make up the small and picturesque village of Selva di Specchio, in the municipality of Solignano, Province of Parma. These properties, long abandoned and in need of restoration, form the tangible foundation of the regeneration project. 

Kameie has also successfully implemented educational projects for children and students in local schools and for the Teatro Regio and the Verdi Festival in Parma. Following the great success of "High School Falstaff"—that offered a reinterpretation of Verdi’s masterpiece as a teen musical and specifically designed to be performed in school settings—, in October 2025 the Teatro Regio’s Verdi Off Festival will present eight new productions created and produced by Kameie together with the young Lynus theatre company, the creative team entrusted with the association’s theatre and music theatre projects.

The strategic project that will accompany the Association over the next five years—until its full logistical, functional, and organizational development, operational capacity, and financial sustainability—is called: “A Residency for Artists, a Village of Arts.” Its purpose is to transform the long-abandoned village of Selva di Specchio into a permanent laboratory of territorial and social regeneration, through an interconnected national and international network of artistic, cultural, educational, and pedagogical initiatives. The project consists of four main components:

- restoration of stone buildings, including demolition of non-recoverable parts;

- redevelopment of green areas, including community gardens, orchards, botanical trails, educational farms;

- construction of new facilities, including the auditorium Kameie’s Hall and the Teatro dei Ciliegi, an open-air theatre immersed in nature;

- community-building activities directly linked to the new and restored spaces.

The new theater, Kameie’s Hall—like all the buildings involved in the restoration project—will be designed according to a philosophy that integrates respect and enhancement of the landscape with principles of sustainability. Its architecture will adopt highly energy-efficient solutions, with careful attention to the selection of materials and construction methods, minimizing environmental impact and emissions. The aim is to create a space that not only hosts artistic and educational activities, but also embodies Kameie’s vision: an open, harmonious place in constant dialogue with the surrounding natural environment.

The Teatro dei Ciliegi will also represent a unique initiative in Italy: a landscape-integrated, organic open-air theatre, set within a system of orchards and natural pathways, destined to become a gathering place and a symbol of innovation.

Educational, musical, theatrical, and audiovisual workshops will be developed in collaboration with expert pedagogues and university professors. The University of Bologna will support pedagogical activities, while the University of Parma will accompany the restoration and architectural redevelopment of the village’s buildings. Kameie positions itself as a permanent laboratory to test and validate pedagogical programs that employ music and theatre as tools for cultivating “civic awareness.” The project will also have a significant impact on youth inclusion: NEETs and vulnerable young people will be actively involved in workshops and in the construction and management processes of the spaces, acquiring technical and artisanal skills in the fields of theatre, music, and audiovisual production, while also gaining experience in active citizenship. Particular attention is devoted also to young Italians of first and second generation, who will be among the main beneficiaries of the community-building and cultural integration activities.

Once spaces are fully functional and supported by stable partnerships, the culmination of Kameie’s vision is the creation of a new arts festival, unprecedented in its form and philosophy: performances and artistic experiences in dialogue with nature, new technologies in harmony with the ecosystem. As a meeting point between the values of local tradition and international artistic excellence, it will be the most visible synthesis of Kameie’s mission

Kameie is distinguished by its ability to combine strong local roots with an international vocation. On the one hand, it serves Apennine communities by counteracting depopulation and promoting social cohesion; on the other, it aims to become a hub of attraction for artists from all over the world, offering them a full-immersion experience in Italian tradition, language, and food culture, while enabling them to embrace a conscious lifestyle based on respect for the natural environment and its resources, attuned to the voices and rhythms of nature. Kameie represents an unprecedented initiative in Italy—and probably in Europe—for its unique synthesis of territorial regeneration in rural and mountain areas at risk of depopulation, accessible and inclusive enjoyment of the performing arts, environmental sustainability and respect for all forms of life, and pedagogical innovation with civic and integrative purposes. All of this is realized through a strongly humanistic and holistic approach that places the individual, the community, and their harmonious dialogue with nature at the center. This uniqueness, combined with the clarity of its vision, could make Kameie an international case history and a reference model for donors, investors, and institutions wishing to support projects capable of combining culture, nature, and social innovation

Founded in 1967 by Herbert von Karajan, the Salzburg Easter Festival is a famed 10-day event with opera and concerts.

Founded in 1967 by Herbert von Karajan, the Salzburg Easter Festival (Osterfestspiele Salzburg) is an independent classical music and opera festival that takes place annually in Salzburg, Austria.

Financially autonomous from the summer Salzburg Festival, the festival relies entirely on ticket sales as well as donations and support from the Association of Patrons, sponsorships and exclusive donor programmes like the Ring Circle and Easter Circle.

The Salzburg Easter Festival is led by Artistic Director Nikolaus Bachler, former director of the Bavarian State Opera, who brings a visionary approach that blends tradition with innovation. For decades, the festival was anchored by the Berlin Philharmonic under Karajan (and later Abbado and Rattle). After the orchestra’s departure in 2013, the Dresden Staatskapelle (under Christian Thielemann) served as resident ensemble. Under Nikolaus Bachler’s leadership, the festival has expanded its artistic scope and is preparing for the return of the Berlin Philharmonic under Kirill Petrenko in 2026.

Each edition of the Easter Festival presents a fully staged opera production and a series of orchestral and choral concerts, complemented by contemporary dance and electronic music commissions, and children’s programming.

The festival has also been associated with the prestigious Herbert von Karajan Prize, established in 2017 by Eliette von Karajan, which honors musicians of international stature and emerging talents alike. Since 2023, the prize has been awarded annually to three artists, each receiving €16,000.

4. Make real connections, and real progress: join the next Program cycle to continue cross-pollinating.

Pollinator Co-Directors Caroline Woolard and Or Zubalsky are artists, educators, and technologists who have been collaborating for 15 years. From 2008-2018, they built and maintained TradeSchool.coop, an international peer-to-peer learning platform that was used in 30 cities internationally. Caroline Woolard is the co-founder of Art.coop, a national network of art and design cooperatives, and the co-author of Making and Being, a book about collaborative pedagogy. Zubalsky and Woolard have taught for over a decade at The New School, Rhode Island School of Design, Cooper Union, the School of Visual Arts, the University of New Mexico, Bennington College, George Washington University, and the University of Hartford. The team at Minima has worked together since 2014 to deliver cutting-edge software-based solutions for corporate clients. Minima has built and managed widely used web, mobile, and server-side applications, including Apple's Music TV. Minima builds complex systems that scale, are maintainable, and cost effective. Minima prioritizes the end user across axes of accessibility, security, communication, and simplicity.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit with EIN 52-2032649, ICAF has served American children since 1997 as their national arts organization. ICAF seeds their imagination, cultivates creativity, and grows mutual empathy among them (for “a more perfect union”) and with their peers worldwide (for a peaceful future).

Creativity is now more crucial than ever before as a career skill, while empathy is considered humanity's survival skill. 

What young people contribute or create in their lives depends on their self-identity. The development of a holistic student identity underlies ICAF’s theory of change.

Through its free school art program, ICAF promotes the Artist-Athlete Ideal, which embodies a creative mind and a healthy body (*mente sana in corpore sano*). This holistic identity awakens a student's dormant “inner artist” or the slumbering “inner athlete,” helping mitigate obesity risks and creativity slumps.

At its World Children's Festival, ICAF's methodology infuses creativity with empathy, motivating students to become "creative empaths" who can work together to shape a brighter future.

ICAF’s Arts Olympiad has evolved over the years into the world’s largest school art program. Its structured lesson plans culminate in art contests on the theme "My Favorite Sport." ICAF selects the most exceptional artworks and invites the young Artists-Athletes as delegates to the World Children’s Festival. The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee has granted ICAF an exclusive license to utilize the "Arts Olympiad" mark.

The 7th Arts Olympiad, currently taking place in the United States and nearly fifty countries, is projected to benefit more than half a million students worldwide. [**World Children’s Festival**](https://WorldChildrensFestival.org)
The World Children’s Festival (WCF) offers a transformative experience, infusing creativity with empathy to give them hope. While learning is a biological process that creates new neural connections, developing empathy necessitates unlearning ingrained biases and prejudices to activate the “mirror neurons” that underpin empathetic responses. As empathy flourishes, divisions diminish, polarization lessens, consensus emerges, nations come together, and the world becomes more peaceful. The educational programming for this three-day public celebration of children's talents is rooted in STEAMS education, an innovative approach developed by ICAF that integrates Arts and Sports into the STEM disciplines. The 7th World Children’s Festival, held at the National Mall from June 30 to July 2, 2026, will also serve as the children's celebration of America's 250th birthday. 

**Other Art Programs**
ICAF occasionally organizes [Peace through Art Programs](https://icaf.org/mission/peace-through-art) to restore the trust in humanity of children in conflict zones and [Healing Art Programs](https://icaf.org/mission/healing-arts-program) to revive faith in nature of child victims of natural disasters. **Sport Art Exhibitions**
As the largest children’s art organization, ICAF curates exhibitions worldwide to bring its unprecedented collection to significant venues and museums. **Art & Sports Online Contests**
To engage children worldwide in the LA28 Olympics, ICAF has launched an online art contest for students aged 8 to 20. This inclusive platform allows participants to create artwork about their favorite sport, share it with family and friends, and receive votes from any sports fan or art lover, contributing to the selection of the winners. https://MyFavoriteSport.org.

International Child Art Foundation

The Civic Circle empowers students students to understand and participate in democracy through music and the arts.

The Civic Circle launched in 2018 to empower low-income students with civic skills, lift youth voices through the arts, and close a well-documented equity gap in civic learning and engagement.

Since then, we’ve reached more than 5,000 underserved students with our after-school workshops, assembly shows and community civic events. The heart of our program is seven civic skills we call “steps to democracy”— Listen, Learn, Choose, Join, Speak, Act and Lead. In other words, be a compassionate, informed, engaged citizen.

Civic learning correlates to better school performance, and college and career readiness. Students in our programs do Social Studies and service-learning activities, and work with teaching artists to create and perform their own civic songs, poems, and art pieces. Along the way they build literacy, confidence, self-expression, and social and emotional skills.

Our innovative, multicultural program equips students with the civic skills they will need to become voters and leaders in their communities, a mission that is increasingly crucial both for student achievement, and for our success as a democratic society. The Civic Circle

At LPTM, Black and Brown boys express themselves; navigate life challenges; mentor their peers; and transform their communities.

Life Pieces To Masterpieces (LPTM) provides opportunities for Black and Brown boys and young men ages 3-25 to express themselves; navigate the challenges in their lives; teach and uplift others as mentors; and contribute positively to their communities. 

Boys enter the program as early as age three, with programming including a daily afterschool arts and education mentoring program from 3:00-7:00, which involves transportation and a meal, a college- and career-prep Saturday Academy for high school young men who also serve as mentors, a full-day six-week summer program, and family and community engagement. All programs are free for all youth and families. 

In all programs, LPTM provides an environment of love, security, and expression. Black boys and young men, from pre-school to grad-school and beyond, discover their authentic selves; awaken to a sense of purpose; have their brilliance and humanity valued and nurtured – and see themselves as the beautiful Masterpieces they are. In their artwork, advocacy, and model of mentorship, our Black boys and young men are protagonists of positive change.
