Peace Winds Japan (PWJ) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to the support of people in distress, and threatened by conflict, poverty, and other turmoil. Since its inception in 1996, PWJ has operated in 33 regions around the world including places such as Iraq, South Sudan, Nepal, and Haiti among others. Our assistance activities are two-fold:
emergency humanitarian assistance and disaster relief activities aiming to safeguard people’s lives and meet their basic human needs; and
reconstruction and development assistance for the regeneration of self-sustaining livelihoods.
Peace Winds Japan carries out its wide-range of activities across international borders. Whether in support of refugees who have fled their homes or victims of natural disasters – regardless of their ethnicity, political affiliation, gender, or religion – Peace Winds Japan is there.
