Natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods and landslides are on the rise in Japan. What we can do to support safe living throughout Japan. This means providing emergency relief when disasters strike, medium- to long-term support for reconstruction, and building a system to prepare for all eventualities. To do this, it is essential to work in partnership with the government, local communities, NPOs and businesses, etc. The Nippon Foundation, which has had on-the-ground knowledge of disasters since the massive earthquake that struck Japan in 1995, is the hub of support and uses the power of its network to respond to disasters.
