I've always been a huge fan of Muttville's mission, rescuing older dogs so they don't have to live their last days in a cold, scary shelter. But after working at Muttville for the last six months, and having two senior dogs in my own home, it means so much more to me than ever that we give these deserving dogs a chance to survive and thrive. The shelters have been overwhelmed this year and the holidays are the worst and most crowded time for shelters, which means that overlooked dogs like seniors are the first to be euthanized to make room for the incoming animals. Please donate to my Muttville fundraiser so that more senior dogs will be able to love and be loved in a safe, comfortable home this season. Thank you for caring for the dogs!

It is a sad reality that every day, perfect dogs with wonderful personalities face an uncertain future simply because they are older and perceived as less adoptable. Whether a dog requires a little more time to get up the stairs, can no longer jog, or is simply not a puppy, they often end up in shelters. In some of the most heartbreaking cases, dogs are surrendered after their beloved guardians pass away or are no longer able to care for them. Our mission is to actively reach out to these senior dogs at risk, provide them with the compassionate medical care they need, and find them loving forever homes. We truly believe no dog should spend their final chapter in a shelter, especially when they have so much love and joy left to give.
