been following oliver since 2019 & one thing that’s always stood out is his love of animals. so for this month & in honor of his bday, we decided to focus on a charity that helps dogs in need. a rescue that provides love, hope & care for these voiceless, older animals. 

funny enough, love, hope & care are 3 traits that made so many people fall in love with the fictional queer couple from 9-1-1 known as bucktommy. characters who found each other later a bit later in their lives

for oliver stark, for pride month, for bucktommy (evan buckley/tommy kinard), lou ferrigno jr & these beautiful dogs that deserve to live out the rest of their lives with dignity 

I fell in love with this charity as soon as I opened your page. The work you do is compassionate, empathetic and means more than you’ll ever know.

Welcome to June! Happy Pride Month. Also Happy Birthday Month to Oliver Stark. Which brings us to our next charity venture: Bark, Bothered, And Bewildered! Our goal this month is to raise money for shelter dogs in Oliver’s (& BuckTommy’s) honor. We’ve found a great rescue based in San Francisco called Muttville. What makes this place so unique & special is their mission is about helping senior dogs in particular. Whether it’s providing them loving care, foster homes or helping them in their final days through hospice care. This place is also the nation’s first cage-free facility. They do work with their foster program, donations and adoption events & other galas including Pride/LGBTQ+ causes. Which is a great way to tie-in to Pride Month & both Oliver’s & Lou’s love of dogs! When I adopted Stella from Muttville three and a half years ago, I had no idea the impact she’d have not just on my life but the folks we’ve met along the way. 

And with her recent cancer diagnosis, I thought I’d try to give back in a meaningful way to the rescue who brought her into my life. Every dollar counts y’all! 

Holiday Giving Campaign for Muttville Senior Dog

Muttville is a San Francisco rescue that gives senior dogs the love and care they deserve. They take in older dogs who are often overlooked, provide medical care, and help them find cozy forever homes. We’ve fostered 37 dogs through Muttville so far, and it’s brought us so much joy. Supporting their work helps more senior dogs find the comfort and care they deserve.

Join us for a community run benefiting Muttville Senior Dog Rescue! 🐶

I am hosting another run to support senior dogs in need, with route options for 5K, 10K, and 10 miles. Whether you’re a casual runner or training for something bigger, there’s a distance for you.

I’ll be putting together a list of local coffee shops and food spots near each route’s start/end so we can hang out, refuel, and connect afterward.

This is a great way to meet new people, move your body, and support an amazing cause.

Donations are highly encouraged (but completely up to you and what feels comfortable). Every dollar helps give senior dogs the care they deserve. Donations can be made through the every.org fundraiser linked in this Partiful.

Every day...
dogs in good health with wonderful personalities are euthanized. Why? Because they're older, and not considered adoptable. A dog is brought in because he can't jog with his guardian anymore. Or he needs a little time to get up the stairs. Or he’s simply not a puppy. In some cases, dogs are moved from loving homes to concrete cages because their guardians have died or simply can't care for them anymore.

We reach out to senior dogs at risk, give them the care they need, and find them loving forever homes. If we had our way, no dog would spend their last days in a shelter. There is so much love and joy in these dogs!
