Muttville is changing the way the world thinks about and treats older dogs.

Every day...
dogs in good health with wonderful personalities are euthanized. Why? Because they're older, and not considered adoptable. A dog is brought in because he can't jog with his guardian anymore. Or he needs a little time to get up the stairs. Or he’s simply not a puppy. In some cases, dogs are moved from loving homes to concrete cages because their guardians have died or simply can't care for them anymore.

We reach out to senior dogs at risk, give them the care they need, and find them loving forever homes. If we had our way, no dog would spend their last days in a shelter. There is so much love and joy in these dogs!

San Francisco Foodies has a Foodie Potluck Picnic every year, this, the tenth anniversary a vote by our 3000 members choose Muttville as our non-profit for donations. 

Every attendee is asked to donate $20. 

San Francisco Foodies is not collecting money directly. 

Previously our high was $5000 in 2016.

For my birthday this year, I’m raising money for Muttville, a senior dog rescue that’s become very special to me. (I always check their website)

Ever since I adopted my own senior dog, Kona (5 years ago), I’ve had a soft spot for pups in their golden years. 

Muttville gives older dogs the love, comfort, and second chance they deserve. I already have three dogs so I can’t adopt from them myself, but I can support their work. If you can donate, even a little, you’ll be helping a senior dog live out the best part of their life. They all deserve that🥹


Donate or You Hate Old Dogs (jk..kind of)

We’re celebrating Stella’s 13th birthday by raising funds for Muttville, a San Francisco-based rescue dedicated to giving senior dogs a second chance at love and comfort in their golden years.

Stella has been through a lot — she lives with megaesophagus, pancreatic issues, arthritis, digestive disorders and is deaf. Not to mention the multiple surgeries she’s had for her breathing issues — and that time she tore the ligaments in her leg… twice! But thanks to a whole lot of love, care, and extra tight snuggles, she’s still here with us today, living her best (and sassiest) life.

Not every senior pup is as lucky.

That’s why Muttville’s mission means so much. They believe that older dogs deserve just as much love, attention, and dignity as any puppy. Every dog deserves to feel safe, wanted, and cherished — no matter their age or health.
