The Musee d'Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean (Mudam) opened in 2006 in a building designed by architect leoh Ming Pei. Mudam's mission is to present the most relevant contemporary art of our time to the largest possible audiences. Mudam's vision is to serve as a reference museum for contemporary art and to be an iconic museum for Luxembourg in terms of artistic and cultural excellence. Through the activities it presents and the manner in which it operates, Mudam promotes creativity, visionary thinking, openness and cultural participation for all. Like Luxembourg itself, Mudam is situated in Europe but has a global and outward looking vision. Mudam is committed to a more inclusive, more tolerant and more responsible world in which museums play a leading role in the transmission of our cultural heritage to future generations.

Radical Software Exhibition

Celebrating Women's Pioneering Role in Digital Arts! Join us for "Radical Software: Women, Art & Computing. 1960 –1991," an extraordinary exhibition that uncovers the hidden chapter in the history of digital arts. Through the works of over 30 pioneering female artists from more than 12 countries, including 15 Americans, the exhibition leads us on a journey through the early experiments of computer-generated art and works inspired by computer science produced in the decades that preceded the rise of the world wide web. Here is a list some of the remarkable women who will be featured in this exhibition:: Rebecca Allen Dara Birnbaum Barbara Hammer Lynn Hershman Leeson Grace C. Hertlein Channa Horwitz Alison Knowles Beryl Korot Shigeko Kubota Ruth Leavitt Liliane Lijn Catherine Nash Sonya Rapoport Deborah Remington Lillian Schwartz Joan Truckenbrod Barbara T. Smith These female artists defied convention by creating bridges between art and technology, reminding historical figures who contributed to the digital revolution such as Ada Lovelace, who developed the first algorithm or the female mathematicians working at NASA in the 1950s and 1960s. We're rewriting history to honour these unsung artists and inspire future generations. Support a more inclusive, creative world. Donate now to be part of this historic celebration!
