More than a decade ago, Miss Representation named something millions of women already knew: that the media shapes who we think we can be. It reached over 400 million people. It changed how educators, parents, and young people talk about gender, power, and representation.

Now, The Representation Project is bringing the next chapter. Miss Representation: Rise Up is premiering soon. And we are ready to take it further than any of our films have gone before.

But a powerful documentary does not change culture on its own. It changes culture when it is in the right rooms, with the right tools, and the right people ready to lead conversations from it. That is exactly what this campaign funds.

The Impact Campaign

Your gift supports an organized, intentional campaign to bring Rise Up to schools, community organizations, after-school programs, and advocacy groups across the country. We will host screenings paired with facilitated discussions, equip local partners with the tools to lead follow-up action, and build a growing network of community champions carrying the film's message far beyond the premiere.

The Youth Curriculum

Alongside the film, The Representation Project has developed a youth curriculum that gives educators and program leaders a ready-to-use, evidence-informed toolkit for engaging young people with the film's themes. The curriculum includes a dedicated module on AI and digital wellbeing — because the next frontier of gender representation is already here. Girls are navigating deepfakes, algorithmic beauty standards, and AI-generated media in real time. This curriculum gives them the language and critical tools to push back.

The curriculum extends the film's life into spaces the film itself can never reach. A classroom. A youth group. A Saturday program in a community center. That is where lasting change happens.

Why now

Every dollar raised goes directly to screenings, curriculum distribution, facilitator training, and the operational backbone of the impact campaign.
Help us make sure this film lands where it matters most.

This is a tax-deductible gift to The Representation Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It is also an investment in the next generation of young women who will lead, create, and reimagine the culture we all share.
