Help make MDMA an approved medicine for PTSD. Historically, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has been notoriously difficult to treat and cure, but MDMA-assisted psychotherapy holds incredible promise. In trials with 107 participants, 56% no longer qualified for PTSD. At the 12-month follow-up, 67% no longer had PTSD. Most subjects received just 2–3 sessions. All participants had chronic, treatment-resistant PTSD and had suffered from PTSD for an average of 17.8 years.

This is addressing the root causes of PTSD and not simply masking symptoms, as many maintenance drugs do. It’s actual processing instead of numbing.

On August 16, 2017, the FDA granted Breakthrough Therapy Designation to MDMA for the treatment of PTSD, and there is a clear path for making MDMA a legal medicine for millions of people who are suffering.

This is the final stretch. MAPS has until September 10 to raise $10 million in order to unlock a $10 million challenge pledge. This, combined with $10 million already committed, will complete the $30 million Capstone Campaign. This will provide the funds needed to complete the studies required for FDA approval, and bring this much-needed treatment to patients.

Our mission is to protect LGBTQ+ youth in Poland from the harms of homelessness and refugeehood. 

The Warsaw House Foundation's mission is to protect homeless and refugee  LGBTQ+ youth in Poland and provide them with the tools they need to live independently. Our inspiration was the  Ali Forney Center  (AFC)  n NYC, which is largest organization in the world offering support to homeless LGBTQ+ youth. We are honored that Carl Siciliano, the AFC's founder is on the board of the Warsaw House Foundation and works as an advisor. We place extra attention on HIV and STI education, support and prevention with the help of board member Dr. Joanna Kubica and the Smart Life Clinic in Warsaw.  After we took in our first LGBTQ+ youth to house on February 14th, 2023  we have been flooded with calls for housing and support from young people in need.  These are Polish Trans 18 year-olds from the Polish countryside in desperate need to escape their abusive and intolerant homes, young queer people with PTSD and untreated mental illness who need housing and support immediately, LGBTQ+ refugees from Ukraine and several young gay men from Iraq who suffered torture in their homeland, were detained and imprisoned at the Polish/Belarussian border for up to two years, and are now trying to build their lives in Poland.  We are also housing and supporting young LGBTQ+ people from Uganda and Egypt,  We are raising money to support the young people under our care, to house and feed them and pay for their medical needs and courses needed for them to start an independent life,  We are also raising money to hire staff (all of WH's work is now done by volunteers), to continue the renovation of our residential building and for short term emergency rentals.  We have a committed and professional team and a well planned strategy for both emergency and long term care.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Supporting people’s healing, especially children’s, from trauma through art.

The Butterfly Art Project (BAP) is a registered South African non-profit organisation, established in 2010 and formally registered in 2013. We support people’s healing, especially children’s, from trauma through art, helping to build communities of healed people, with resilience, stability and creativity, who fulfil their potential, while creating spaces for others to do the same. BAP trains and supports Community Art Facilitators (CAFs) to provide art therapeutic classes to children in under-resourced communities in the Western Cape, Gauteng, and Northern Cape Provinces. During each term an Art Project is completed which guides children in exploring and developing confidence in using an art medium, while exploring a topical theme relevant for the children's age group through the completion of an art project. Children in under-resourced communities experience higher levels of stress and are at higher risk of experiencing trauma and require help in learning how to process stress and heal. 

OUR PROGRAMMES

1. Heart For Art Programme

An after school programme providing weekly art therapeutic classes to 220 children per week aged 6 – 21 from the local community. Each school term the children complete an art project on a topical theme which they explore in a safe space through art, developing confidence in using different art mediums, developing their creativity, and creating a completed art work.

2. Love Bugs Programme 

A specialised programme working with severely neglected children not in school. Each school term, 60 children aged 5 – 12, who are not in the formal education system, attend the Love Bugs Programme 4 times a week. This programme helps them to stabilise, improving their school readiness and preparing them to enter the formal education system.

3. Community Art Facilitator (CAF) Programme

BAP trains, mentors and supports autonomous Community Art Facilitators (CAFs) to provide art therapeutic classes to children and youth in under resourced communities. All BAP training and mentoring is free. In order to ‘pay’ for the training, CAFs must implement with at least 7 children per week. All CAFs must complete the 24-Hour CAF Foundational Early Beginnings Module, implement for 24 hours and present a Portfolio of Practice to demonstrate their competence. BAP uses an effective hybrid training and mentoring delivery system comprising of in-person and online sessions. This maximises accessibility and cost efficiency. BAP has a faculty of experienced expert trainers and mentors in the 25 topics trained – 20% of the trainers are BAP staff and 80% are contracted service providers. We currently support a CAF Movement of over 400 CAFs working in over 140 communities providing over 20,000 children and youth with art therapeutic classes.

4. Art Campaign and Exhibition

An annual Art Campaign is run on a pertinent topic culminating in a public exhibition in the end of the year. At least 40 CAFs attend workshops on the art campaign topic and participate in mentoring circles to support them in working with the children they teach to produce artworks for the exhibition. At least 300 children’s artworks are displayed in the public exhibition. Previous Art Campaign themes include Manifesting the New in 2021, Trial of Courage in 2022, Cruelty & Compassion in 2023 and Celebration of Life in 2024.

4. Project Cocoon

Project Cocoon supports CAFs in establishing and strengthening their own initiatives through intensive training, mentoring and coaching. From 2020 - 2023, thirteen CAFs participated in Project Cocoon and significantly strengthened their community based art organisations serving children independently of BAP. These 13 Project Cocoon CAFs'  community art organisations work in 15 communities serving 330 children and youth a week. From 2024 onwards, Project Cocoon will focus on assisting CAFs who wish to establish their own autonomous Love Bugs Model Programme in the communities in which they work.

**About cluster headache**

Cluster headache ("suicide headache") is often considered the most painful medical condition. Patients [rate it](https://doi.org/10.1111/head.14021) as significantly more painful than childbirth, kidney stones, gunshot wounds, and bone fractures. Standard painkillers don't help.

Even in wealthy nations with advanced healthcare, **hundreds of thousands** still experience torture-like suffering every year. About 50% of all patients have contemplated suicide. At the same time, global funding for cluster headache is virtually nonexistent. **This crisis cannot go on any longer.**

**Psychedelics save lives**

Psychedelics like psilocybin, LSD, and DMT have shown promise in treating cluster headache pain, in some cases with 70–80% of surveyed users reporting significant relief. Some patients even achieve complete remission.

Often, low, sub-hallucinogenic doses are more than enough to prevent clusters or stop attacks acutely. Patients could self-medicate safely and with minimal side effects.

However, only a tiny minority of patients have access to these life-saving treatments. Given the severity of the pain, the situation is analogous to refusing anesthesia to patients during surgery. **This is absolutely unacceptable.**

Humans On The Loop is a transdisciplinary inquiry into the nature of agency in our age of automation.

In our AI-infused society, the gap between imagination and “reality” is smaller than it’s ever been — and now it’s time for humankind to graduate from asking if our dreams are possible to asking how we can dream better. This means cultivating deeper self-awareness, more discipline and humility, and a better metaphysics of technology to help us wield these new superpowers. But decades into a period of rapid information scaling, our grasp of consensus reality and executive function have eroded, causing an epistemic crisis. The wicked problems of this century require coordination at unprecedented scale, but our greatest natural resource — attention — has worn even thinner than our topsoil. How do we regenerate it and restore the faculties we need to be good stewards of this new ecology of minds?

Navigating the challenges that come with new information technologies is a group exercise and demands inherently plural approaches. The right response to tools that amplify our biases is to lean in with curiosity and play, not fearI have spent two decades studying and synthesizing  perspectives on intelligence and technology, innovation, and human-technology co-evolution…as well as testing bleeding-edge creative tools in public, helping cultivate systems literacies for navigating transformation, and fostering a massive network of mentors and collaborators with whom I share a devotion to the cultivation of a healthy Biosphere and Technosphere. NVP-USA celebrates four decades in the creative application of trauma-informed peacebuilding across community and culture.  

In memory and inspired by artist-extraordinaire John Lennon who lost his life to gun violence on the streets of New York, the **Non-Violence Project USA (NVP-USA)** applies its symbol, the "knotted gun," to promote the universal alternative to violence:  **peace**.

The symbol is one of the world's most impactful images, its installation in major cities planting the vision for peace to prevail.  The original sculpture stands as the monument to non-violence at the entrance to the United Nations.  

**Each year, over 1.6 million people lose their lives to violence, World Health Organization, World Report on Violence and Health.  Gun violence is now the number-one cause of death for children and young adults in the United States.** 

Every 7 minutes an adolescent is killed by an act of violence.  130 million students between age 13 -15 experience bullying.  30% of American workers claim to suffer from mobbing.  60% of women have been victims of forms of sexual harassment during their working life.

NVP has introduced non-violence principles and practices to over 10 million youth worldwide, and through its **Schools for Peace** curriculum offers its ***Why Knot?*** violence-prevention workshops to school districts and community-based organizations across America.  The organization and its studio offer replicas of Artist Ambassador custom-designed sculptures, the proceeds supporting NVP educational programs.  Additionally, the **Cities for Peace** program provides the opportunity for cities across the United States to purchase, install and dedicate a bronze "knotted gun" sculpture as a permanent demonstration of non-violence in their community. Autism Empowerment

Did you know that 1.3 million children in Kenya between 10-19 years old struggle with mental health? ChezaCheza has developed a robust dance therapy curriculum built to improve the mental health and well-being of children.

ChezaCheza is a Kenyan not-for-profit founded in 2018, and we are on a mission to create access to safe spaces for children in marginalised communities where dance supports their mental health and well-being.

Through our therapeutic dance sessions, children experience the joy of dancing while flourishing into young adults with strong minds who show up in life with self-esteem and high self-awareness and approach life’s challenges with responsible actions.

Our Why
Children in marginalised communities live in a chronic environment of stress, with high levels of violence, abuse and adversity. 

This is an environment that induces toxic stress, making it difficult for children to regulate their emotions, resulting in impulsive actions and decisions, physical acting out, drug abuse, anxiety, and low self-esteem. ChezaCheza wants to use dance as therapy to combat this.

Community Dance Coaches
We find, train and equip dancers from marginalised communities to become Community-Based Dance Coaches who create safe spaces in their communities and schools.

Through an intensive training program, they gain skills to guide a ChezaCheza session, where they teach children how dance can be a tool for expressing their feelings, releasing stress, and building confidence.

Weekly Dance Sessions
Children receive a child-friendly, fun and culturally appropriate mental health service through weekly therapeutic dance sessions.

Each session incorporates Dance Movement Therapy, Social-Emotional Learning and Mindfulness Meditation.

Sass Go is a nonprofit that protects and supports survivors, their families, and the professionals who serve them.   

SASS Go's work ensures prevention education and support for survivors of physical and sexual violence, their families, and the professionals who serve them. That work has served over 30,000 people on four continents since receiving its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2019. Zera Bolivia Foundation fosters indigenous-led education, enabling self-empowerment, financial independence, and social mobility.

**Zera Bolivia** is an Aymara-led foundation that hosts classes and events for kids as a response to colonial norms, championing indigenous self-determination—especially for women and girls—through transformative education grounded in emotional intelligence, critical thinking, self-awareness, and practical tools for financial independence.

We began in 2015 with a socio-emotional learning pilot at a women’s prison in La Paz, and have since grown to reach thousands of children, youth, and families across Bolivia’s nine departments. Collaborating with municipal governments, the Ministry of Education, and local communities, we co-create culturally adapted programs that honor each community’s priorities and values. Thanks to our community and donor support, we have provided training, world-class educational materials, and technology infrastructure to prisons, children’s hospitals, rural areas, schools, and grassroots groups—always centering local leadership.

As the American Bar Association reveals, Asian elders, especially those from immigrant backgrounds, endure more social isolation and mental health struggles than their peers due to linguistics, financial, and cultural barriers. These factors combined significantly impact the mental and emotional well-being of Asian American older adults in a city where depression and suicide among older adult immigrants are on the rise.

Dear Cherished Supporter,

Thank you for taking a moment to connect with our mission. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share our journey with you—a journey born from a deep, instinctive need to care for our Elders. **In March 2020, at the onset of the global pandemic, we leapt into action to support our Asian American elder community, who were facing devastating food insecurity, isolation, and loneliness.**

While many believe the urgency that defined the pandemic has passed, **the reality for our Elders remains critical. Even now, 1 in 3 Asian American older adults live below the poverty line.** These challenges are not new. For decades, this community has been overlooked, its struggles masked by the harmful “model minority” myth, which conceals the deep inequities faced by Asian American Elders. This, combined with language barriers, technology gaps, and economic hardship, means that many continue to lack access to the resources and care they deserve.

Out of a guttural instinct to protect and uplift our Elders, we **transformed our 300 square-foot apartment on the cusp of Chinatown and the Lower East Side into a sanctuary of cultural resonance and care.** We hyperfocused on those in the most critical state, providing emergency food relief and addressing their emotional needs through handwritten notes in their native languages, making sure our Elders felt seen, valued, and dignified.

**These care packages are more than just food—they are a lifeline.** Filled with culturally meaningful lunchboxes and fresh groceries beloved in Asian immigrant households like bok choy, rice, mung beans (and more!), all lovingly bundled inside decorated bags, attached with notes of love & joy that deliver warmth, connection, and belonging.

As our work evolved beyond emergency relief, we **built Heart of Dinner into a nonprofit focused on sustainable care.** Thanks to our incredible community of donors, partners, volunteers, and small team of staff, we have transformed into a **501(c)(3) public charity that continues to nourish and uplift our Elders, week after week.**

By Summer 2024, **we have delivered over 200,000 meals to beloved Elders living in significantly under-resourced and underinvested communities across New York City.** And our work is far from over. The challenges our Elders face didn’t begin with the pandemic, and they certainly won’t end with it. **These hardships are rooted in long-standing societal and governmental neglect, where policies and systems have historically overlooked the needs of this community.**

**Looking forward, we have plans to build Heart of Dinner's own delivery infrastructure with a fleet of electric vehicles, hire a dedicated team of drivers trained in our protocols—which emphasize cultural respect and thoughtful care when serving our Elders—and we aim to increase our care package distribution by 25%.** **These efforts will build upon our ongoing commitment to delivering care packages to our Elders and existing beneficiaries with the same high level of deep care and compassion.**

We Heart Seattle is an action-based, boots-on-the-ground movement that organizes trash cleanups in our public spaces and offers resources to those in need.  Through our direct civic engagement we lead the way to a more compassionate and healthy community.

To meet these goals, we:

We are a community-based, non-profit organization that serves the homeless and at-risk populations of the Mid-Peninsula. We establish environments and build relationships where community volunteers can provide food and clothing, as well as referrals for shelter, addiction recovery, and other personal support.

Street Life Ministries (or SLM) began in 2001 at the downtown Menlo Park train station. Today, due to the help of many people, it now serves over 35,000 meals a year, five nights a week, in Menlo Park, Palo Alto and Redwood City. For 20 years SLM gatherings have built a reputation as the one consistent place the homeless can count on. Whether it is a holiday, a cloudy or rainy day, SLM never varies from the set schedule, giving the homeless a stable option throughout the year.

SLM is an established 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a board of directors, and is very different from many “feeding ministries.” It serves a unique role in the way it cares for the homeless and the hungry in San Mateo/Santa Clara Counties. Hot, home cooked meals served in outdoor venues are less threatening for our homeless neighbors, fostering a safe environment for relational connections to develop with the SLM leaders and volunteers. These connections build trust for guiding homeless friends toward healthier decisions, medical assistance, detox, rehab, housing, mentorship and counseling. In addition to food and encouragement, SLM provides clothing, toiletry kits, sleeping bags, medical supplies, temporary shelter, recovery services and job assistance to those in need. 

SLM is also unique because it places its staff and its services “in the streets”, and “in the camps”, where the homeless live. It reaches more homeless people directly in those street locations than traditional professional service agencies. Additionally, no other homeless non-profit in the area provides local residents with the large number (over 6000 hours per year, estimated) of volunteer hours of opportunity to meet directly and be served on a face to face basis as we do. Homeless folks need love, care, trustworthy friends, and reliable, regular support to improve and/or recover. SLM is “in the trenches and on the street” every day, helping our homeless neighbors. SLM’s outreach can be accessed at all hours of the day and night.
