A volunteer organization to preserve and maintain trails in El Sargento and La Ventana and build community around them
Welcome to the La Ventana El Sargento Trail Association (LaVESTA). We are a volunteer organization, dedicated to building, maintaining and preserving the beautiful trails and natural area of our home in Southern Baja. We offer several community programs, including trail rescue, hiking and biking classes for local kids and families, many of whom have never been on the trails in their backyard before.
In April 2026 we signed an easement protecting 200 hectares containing the best trails in the hill of El Sargento - protecting trail access and conserving the land.
We need your donation to keep 200 hectares of land and trails protected, maintained and accessible to everyone for the next 20 years and beyond, and to grow our local programs that focus on building an engaged community of local kids and families that’s essential to long-term conservation.
