Keep Our Republic Charitable Fund

At the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787, Ben Franklin was asked by a passerby what kind of political system we would have, and he reportedly replied: “A Republic, if you can keep it.”

We pledge to keep it.

Founded in 2020, Keep Our Republic is a nonpartisan civic education organization committed to the vitality of America’s democracy by promoting trust in elections, the rule of law, and constitutional checks and balances.

Keep Our Republic works to ensure that our democracy remains resilient, responsive, and worthy of the people it serves. Through innovative civic education and collaborative research, we work across the political spectrum.

We serve as a trusted resource for journalists, providing experts and timely perspective, and by fostering dialogue at the local level and equipping Americans with knowledge, we focus on proactive, nonpartisan initiatives that reinforce the guardrails of American democracy. These efforts are designed to build public trust and strengthen institutional integrity. Our civic education initiatives are nationally significant, but local in focus.
