Hope Paws Support Fund

Executive Summary

Hope Paws Support Fund is a 100% volunteer-led, federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 41-4118400) based in Lake Forest, California. We were founded in February 2026 with a single, urgent mission: to ensure that no dog is left behind because a family cannot afford emergency veterinary care, and no rescue is forced to say no due to lack of funding.

We operate at the intersection of emergency medicine, rescue operations, and family support. We do not run a shelter. Instead, we provide direct financial assistance to veterinary clinics, rescue organizations, and transport services – removing the financial barriers that too often stand between a dog and a second chance.

In our first year, we are raising $41,300 to fund four interconnected, life-saving programs. Every dollar we raise goes directly to dogs. We have no paid staff, no executive bonuses, and no overhead. We are dog lovers who decided to act.

The Problem We Exist to Solve

Every day in the United States, families face an impossible choice: pay thousands of dollars for their dog's emergency surgery or surrender their beloved pet.

Most families do not have that kind of savings. Without help, the dog suffers or is surrendered to already overcrowded shelters.

At the same time, small rescue organizations operate on razor-thin margins. A $500 pull fee can mean the difference between pulling a dog from a euthanasia list or leaving them behind. Transport costs, medical bills, and basic supplies add up quickly – and too many dogs die simply because the funding was not there in time.

The gap is not a lack of will. It is a lack of resources.

Hope Paws Support Fund was created to fill that gap. We step in when families and rescues are doing everything they can but still need support.

Our Mission

At Hope Paws Support Fund, we help dog owners cover unexpected medical bills, provide rescue organizations with the funding to save and transport dogs in need, and connect dogs with loving homes through a trusted network. Together, we ensure every dog gets a second chance at a healthy, happy life.

Our Vision

We envision a world where no dog is euthanized or surrendered due to financial constraints, and where every dog has access to the medical care and loving home they deserve.

Our Core Values

  • Compassion in Action: We provide immediate, tangible support to alleviate suffering. No red tape. No waiting.
  • Community-Driven: We empower a network of rescuers, fosters, adopters, and donors to collaborate effectively.
  • Integrity: We manage donor funds with complete transparency. Our full budget is public.
  • Prevention: We believe in supporting families to prevent the trauma of surrender, keeping bonds intact.

Our Four Life-Saving Programs

Hope Paws Support Fund operates four interconnected programs designed to address the full journey of a dog from crisis to comfort.

Total 2026 Budget: $41,300

Program 1: Emergency Veterinary Care Fund – $12,000

We provide direct financial assistance paid straight to veterinary clinics. When a dog needs urgent surgery, critical care, or life-saving treatment, their family should never have to choose between their pet's life and their own financial stability.

What we fund:

  • Emergency surgeries (bloat, foreign body removal, trauma)
  • Critical care hospitalization (ICU stays for severe illness or injury)
  • Diagnostic imaging (X-rays, ultrasounds)
  • Urgent medications and treatments

Expected impact: 10–12 dogs receive immediate, life-saving medical care. Families avoid surrendering beloved pets due to financial crisis.

What a donor's gift provides:

  • $50 = A veterinary exam
  • $500 = Helps fund a life-saving surgery
  • $1,200 = Fully funds one dog's emergency surgery

Program 2: Rescue & Pull Support – $12,000

We provide funds to rescue organizations so they can pull dogs from high-risk shelters – especially OC Animal Care – and transfer them to verified rescue partners. Every dog deserves a safe exit from a dangerous situation.

What we fund:

  • Shelter pull fees ($500 per dog average)
  • Intake and holding costs at partner rescues
  • Initial veterinary assessment and vaccines upon rescue

Expected impact: 24 dogs pulled from euthanasia lists and transferred to verified rescue organizations.

What a donor's gift provides:

  • $500 = Pulls one dog from a high-risk shelter
  • $1,000 = Pulls two dogs to safety

Program 3: Dog Transportation Network – $10,800

We support safe travel to move dogs from overcrowded shelters to foster and adoptive homes. Distance should never block a second chance.

What we fund:

  • Fuel reimbursement for volunteer transport drivers (24 trips @ $200)
  • Commercial transport for long-distance hauls (10 hauls @ $400)
  • Transport supplies (crates, bedding, bowls)

Expected impact: Up to 24 dogs transported from overcrowded shelters to foster and adoptive homes across the United States. Multiple dogs per trip may increase total.

Program 4: Dog Network & Adoption Support – $1,000

We connect dogs with adopters through outreach and professional content. A loving home is the ultimate goal.

What we fund:

  • Professional video and content to showcase adoptable dogs
  • Social media campaigns and rescue coordination
  • Adoption event support

Expected impact: Increased adoption rates; growing network of trusted rescue partners, fosters, and volunteers.

Operations – $5,500

Essential infrastructure to sustain and grow our work, including accounting and compliance, grant writing and reporting, website and technology, marketing and communications, and insurance and banking.

We keep operations lean. As a 100% volunteer-led organization, we have no salaried staff, no executive bonuses, and no unnecessary overhead. Every dollar you give goes directly to dogs.

Our Founder & Leadership

Natalia Boiko, Founder & President

Natalia founded Hope Paws Support Fund to bridge the gap between urgent animal welfare needs and available resources. With over a decade of experience in animal advocacy, Natalia has a deep, on-the-ground understanding of the rescue ecosystem.

As the administrator of the Facebook group "Dogs matter: Rescue, Adopt, Foster, Share," she has cultivated a network of thousands of rescuers, fosters, and adopters nationwide. Her experience managing urgent cases – where a pledged dollar is the difference between rescue and euthanasia – directly informs the organization's strategic focus on rapid, accessible funding.

The founding story:

Hope Paws Support Fund was born from two experiences. First, when Natalia's own dog, Ariel, needed emergency surgery, the financial strain was overwhelming. Second, through her rescue work, she saw urgent dogs with rescue interest but no funding. A formal safety net was missing – so Natalia built one.

Our Impact (Projected for 2026)

With your support, Hope Paws Support Fund will achieve:

  • 10–12 dogs receive life-saving emergency veterinary care
  • 24 dogs pulled from high-risk shelters
  • 24 dogs transported to foster and adoptive homes
  • Dozens of families kept together instead of surrendering their beloved pets
  • A growing network of rescue partners, fosters, and volunteers
