Created by Princess Françoise Sturdza, Heart for India Foundation is a non-political, non-governmental and non-religious organization. Nelson Mandela said that "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" and this is exactly what reflects the daily work of Heart for India. In order to cut the cycle of poverty, the Foundation is helping underprivileged children from 3 to 18 years old to access to Education. Additionally, the two Training Centers sponsored by HFI offer a unique opportunity to young women to get an official diploma and find long-term jobs. In 2005, Heart for India started its work in a Government School in the suburbs of Chennai. Since then, the Foundation has grown step by step and built a winning model based on the following method: to link Education with Nutrition , to identify and solve serious problems related to Health & Hygiene, Security & Safety and Environment. The results are self-explanatory: the children's success rate has come from 40% to more than 90% . This is one of the reasons why the Government has nominated our Schools as "Model" for the entire country. Regarding the two Professional Training Centers, our rate of success reaches 98% . Every year, 200 young women who already pass their Standard XII receive their professional diplomas and 100% of them find a job. That's how they get out of the poverty.
