Greater Lansing Food Bank (GLFB) has led mid-Michigan’s fight against hunger since 1981 to ensure families and neighbors in need have access to the nutritious food they need to support their health and well-being. GLFB’s 4,000 square mile, seven-county service area encompasses Clare, Clinton, Eaton, Gratiot, Ingham, Isabella and Shiawassee Counties.

GLFB partners with a diverse network of food pantries, community kitchens and other trusted community organizations to ensure everyone in mid-Michigan has access to the nourishing food they need. GLFB also offers programs like mobile food pantries, Weekend Kits for Children, Care Kits for unhoused neighbors and, most recently, home delivery services for neighbors who are elderly, disabled or experience barriers to transportation.

GLFB’s Garden Project provides access to land, how-to education, free seeds and plants, tool lending, a networking hub and more so that all community members can have access to fresh healthy food through gardening opportunities. It has a network of nearly 100 community gardens across mid-Michigan.

Together, these efforts ensure that tens of thousands of neighbors across mid-Michigan have reliable access to the food they need to thrive. But the need continues to grow as more families face rising costs and difficult choices between food and other essentials.

Every donation to Greater Lansing Food Bank helps provide nutritious meals, strengthen local partnerships and expand innovative programs that meet people where they are. With the support of donors, GLFB can continue building a stronger, more food-secure mid-Michigan, where every neighbor has access to the nourishment they deserve.
