FreeWorld's mission is to end generational poverty and recidivism through economic
mobility. Today, that means we train and place returning citizens into living-wage CDL-A careers.
FreeWorld was founded in 2020 by Jason Wang, an Asian American proximate leader with lived experience. At the age of 15, Jason was given a 12-year sentence at a maximum security prison in Texas for aggravated robbery. Upon release, Jason decided to become an agent for change and founded FreeWorld. Over the last four years, FreeWorld has graduated 2500 returning citizens with their CDL-A license nationwide, created an estimated $114.5M economic impact, and saved $41.5M in marginal recidivism costs.
