An exceptional place for modern art on the French Riviera.
La Fondation Maeght is France's first art foundation, opened in 1964 in St Paul de Vence in the French Riviera, with one of the most important collections of modern art, with works by Miró, Giacometti, Chagall, Calder and Hepworth as well as temporary exhibitions.
La Fondation Maeght opened thanks to the singular destiny of Aimé and Marguerite Maeght, Europe's leading art publishers and dealers in the post-war era. Since its inception and to this date, La Foundation has organized more than 140 exhibitions of modern and contemporary artists and providing access to art to visitors and scholars alike.
As France's very first independent art institution, La Fondation was modelled on American institutions such as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, the Barnes Collection and the Phillips Collection in the US.
As a non-profit, La Fondation does not receive regular public funding from the French government. This means that the support of individuals and companies is essential for its survival, and for the continuation of its mission to promote arts and culture in the decades to come.
Your support, no matter the value, is hugely appreciated and there are many ways you can get involved.
