Finance Watch AISBL
We are dedicated to making finance serve society by promoting a democratic, stable, and sustainable financial system.
Finance Watch is a European non-profit that exists to make finance serve people, society and the planet. We were founded in response to the 2008 financial crisis, when policymakers realised there was no counter-power to the lobby of finance and that something needed to be done. Simply put we aim to:
- Make the financial system safer for families, businesses and governments.
- Create better regulation of financial services in banking, insurances and pensions.
- Redirect financial flows towards activities that address climate risk management and rising inequalities.
Finance Watch proudly serves 111 non-profit members from 21 EU countries and in turn, via our members, we represent millions of citizens. Finance Watch also supports a large number of civil society organisations, individuals and activist groups through the Change Finance coalition.
Together, with the support we receive from our generous funders and individual donors, we are bridging the gap more everyday between the existing financial system and the financial system which would truly serve society.
