DwellingsNow is a charity committed to addressing the issue of inadequate housing by providing shelter and hope for recipient families as well as a life-changing experience for those involved in the giving and building process.

DwellingsNow came into existence as a result of a generous person helping Tom & Linnea Hackett and their family of four with a home when they were passing through Goodyear, Arizona. The generosity shown to Tom & Linnea prompted them to respond in kind to “pay it forward” with the goal to help as many families as possible with a home. The reach and impact has been amazing as donors and volunteers have responded to fund and build homes in Mexico, Honduras, Cuba, Costa Rica, and Colombia. The stories of families dreams coming true has been a blessing to everyone involved.

Our Team

DwellingsNow is made up of the founder, Tom Hackett, a committed and motivated Board of Directors, staff, donors, and volunteers like yourself. Together we have been building homes and changing lives since 2009. Formerly known as Dwellings (2009 - 2021) and now as DwellingsNow our focus has mainly been on Honduras and Mexico. As we look to the future we are planning to add new build location countries and continue to expand our budget and reach significantly to help more families that are desperate for an adequate home to raise their families. We will be exposing and educating anyone we can regarding the great need that exists for families and offer opportunities to get involved in helping give a “hand up” and new start by donating and participating in home build experiences. Together we plan to build thousands of homes and make a difference that impacts not only families but also the donors, volunteers and the communities and countries where we are involved.
