"Empower Young Minds: Build a Stronger Future through Literacy and Numeracy"

Dignity Education Vision International Inc is an associate entity of DEVI Sansthan, a non-profit organisation founded in 1992 in Lucknow, India by educationist Dr. Sunita Gandhi former World Bank Economist and reputed educationist, initially focused on grassroots community development, including health camps in villages around Lucknow. From 2014 to 2019, the organization spearheaded Hindi literacy initiatives in Lucknow&,created literacy materials, and mobilized 500,000 student volunteers through the "Each One Teach One" campaign, reaching 1.5 million people. During the COVID-19 crisis, DEVI Sansthan developed EdTech literacy solutions and expanded its programs into 30 languages. By 2022, it launched the Accelerating Learning for All (ALfA) program, beginning large-scale implementation in India and forging international partnerships.

Mission: to provide quality education for underprivileged communities by creating scalable, swift and effective pedagogies; and implementing them across broad geographies through partnerships with governments, schools &; colleges, corporates and other NGOs.

Vision: to see a world in which every child gets a quality education that goes beyond basic literacy to address key 21st century challenges, including climatechange. A world in which every adult has the dignity of being able to read and write.

Research has shown that early foundational skills in literacy and numeracy form the bedrock for future learning. When children fall behind at early stages, they are more likely to remain behind, leading to dropouts and further educational inequalities. Data from national assessments like the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) reveal that a significant proportion of children in rural India, struggle with foundational skills in reading and basic math. Students from marginalized communities and lower-income families are particularly affected, Dignity Education Vision International Inc is addressing this gap and ensuring a bright future for children from marginalised families.

Quality Education for underprivileged communities

Data from national assessments like the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) reveal that a significant proportion of children in rural India, struggle with foundational skills in reading and basic math. Students from marginalized communities and lower-income families are particularly affected, Research has shown that early foundational skills in literacy and numeracy form the bedrock for future learning. When children fall behind at early stages, they are more likely to remain behind, leading to dropouts and further educational inequalities. All of us value education highly as a path to better economic opportunities. However, without addressing basic literacy and numeracy skills, students are often unable to compete effectively in higher education or the job market. The ALfA( Accelerated Learning For ALL) pedagogy developed by DEVI is a ground-breaking pedagogy that transforms teaching and learning processes, shifting from teacher-led to child-led interactions, where students learn collaboratively in pairs. Teachers play an essential role as Galvanizers, using specially designed study materials for interactive learning. This approach has led to a fast-tracked and holistic Foundational Learning in Numeracy (FLN) along with 21 st century skills, reducing the learning period to 45 school days, as opposed to the typical three years. Notably, in many countries, even after five years of foundational skill teaching, a significant number of children cannot read with understanding. ALfA has rapidly expanded, including Memorandum of Understanding with governments of Uttar Pradesh for 15 districts and Himachal Pradesh state-wide, totaling 14,000 schools. The program's successful reach extends beyond India, evidenced by a UNICEF-supported pilot in the Maldives, showcasing its potential for global application. The program is backed by 22 years of rigorous research and 8 years of active fieldresearch and large-scale implementation. Impact numbers since 2014 ; 14000 government schools have implemented ALfA FLN program with doubling of student reading and numeracy levels. ● 500,000 school children have used Global Dream FLN toolkits to teach an illiterate learner in their locality. ● 10000+ illiterate adults and out of school children made literate through the Literacy Now App. ● 1,500,000 people aged 6-60 years covered under Barabanki literacy survey and paper published in Economic and Political Weekly. ● 3000+ children and adults made literate in slums and villages across India through Global Dream literacy labs. ● 66 Countries, teachers participated in MOOT: Massive Open Online Training The proposed fund raising is to scale up the program in more areas.
