Danbury Animal Welfare Society

For more than 50 years, Danbury Animal Welfare Society (DAWS) has been a safe haven for animals in need across western Connecticut and beyond. Our mission is simple but powerful: to protect and advocate for homeless, abused, and abandoned animals while promoting responsible pet guardianship.

Each year, DAWS provides shelter, veterinary care, and loving support to hundreds of cats and dogs until they find their forever homes. Beyond adoptions, we run vital programs that strengthen our community—spay/neuter initiatives to prevent overpopulation, humane education for children and adults, and outreach services that help families keep pets in their homes.
