We aim to build a more equitable & sustainable food system by improving access to affordable fresh produce in the Twin Cities
At BrightSide, we believe that everyone deserves access to affordable fresh fruits and vegetables, no matter their income or where they live in a city. We are working to make this vision a reality in the Twin Cities through our Healthy Corner Store Initiative, fresh produce home deliveries for all income levels (including Food as Medicine and Pay What You Can branches), and urban farmers markets. Every week, we distribute about 5000 pounds of fresh produce to corner stores and households across Minneapolis and St. Paul. The flip side of BrightSide Produce is DarkSide Snacks, a new venture where we are upcyling overripe produce from our corner store "buyback" program to create tasty, healthy packaged food. We strive for zero food waste in our operations.
