He bequeathed to the Greek Nation his collections and parental home, which opened in April 1931 as the Benaki Museum. Since its inauguration, the Benaki Museum evolved into one of the largest and most innovative museums in Europe, with several annexes, archives, conservation laboratories and shops. Despite its development, the Benaki Museum remains welcoming, open to all and faithful to its mission: the creation of a space of diversity, where cultures, eras and places meet.
