Aspen Historical Society (AHS) preserves and shares the rich and diverse history of the upper Roaring Fork Valley. Founded in 1963, AHS operates four historic sites—Wheeler/Stallard Museum, Holden/Marolt Mining & Ranching Museum, and the ghost towns of Ashcroft and Independence—and maintains one of the largest public archives in the region. Through immersive tours, exhibitions, public programs, and free educational outreach, we connect locals and visitors alike with the stories that shape our shared stories.
