Our Mission
The Academy of Alameda PTSA exists to strengthen our diverse school community by fostering meaningful partnerships among students, families, teachers, and staff to create a welcoming and enriching school experience for every student.
Our Priorities
1. Strengthen Our School Community
Create opportunities that foster belonging, connection, and positive school experiences for students, families, and staff. (Measured by attendance numbers, membership numbers, and overall participation of families at school, etc.)
2. Recruit, Support, and Celebrate Members + Volunteers
Develop sustainable volunteer systems so participation is easier, leadership is shared, and volunteers feel appreciated. (Measured by membership numbers)
3. Raise Funds That Directly Support Our Mission
Fundraise intentionally to support students, teachers, classrooms, and programs that strengthen the Academy of Alameda community. (Measured by money raised)
About Academy of Alameda
The Academy of Alameda (AoA) is a free, TK-8 public charter school where all students meet their full potential through rigorous academics, pathways to advanced math, and an inclusive, age-appropriate social justice-oriented curriculum focused on community, advocacy, and multiple perspectives. AoA is located in the East Bay area.
At the Academy of Alameda, students gain the confidence to self-direct their learning, graduating with the abilities and skills needed to succeed in high school and life. Since the Academy of Alameda opened its doors in August 2010, the school has uplifted the lives of more than one thousand students.
Our graduates leave with a strong sense of community, belonging, and agency that crosses boundaries of race, culture, gender, and socioeconomic status. As one of the top five most diverse schools in California (Niche), we prepare students to become thoughtful, compassionate, and engaged members of their community and the world.

Academy of Alameda 2026/2027 School Year Fundraiser
We are excited for this new school year of 2026 and 2027. This year, we are focusing on raising money to continue our Teacher mini-grants, build on the enriching programs like Festival of Cultures and Readathon, and initiating new Health and Safety programs for Academy of Alameda. All of this can happen if we combine our resources. What are Teacher mini-grants? These are teacher submitted special projects and programs. Last year, our grants supported our school's butterfly garden, 5th grade field trip, 8th grade dance, Buddy program, a writing contest, and a Spanish cooking class. How can your donations help with student events? We want to making learning even more fun and exciting for our students! This includes bringing in more speakers, performances, and experiences to add on to enriching programs like Festivals of Cultures and Readathons. Health and Safety Programs need your help! There's a lot we can do to ensure the safety and health of our students, teachers, and families. This can include adding more to our food programs, campus beautification, physical fitness activities, and campus safety. Your support is needed to make this a reality for our students!
