ANIMAL OUTREACH OF THE MOTHER LODE

Organizational Overview
MISSION

Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode improves the lives of animals and the people who care for them by providing low-cost veterinary services for dogs and cats, operating a No Kill rescue and adoption program for cats and kittens, and offering community education that promotes responsible pet ownership.

Through affordable spay and neuter services, vaccination programs, and rescue efforts, we work to reduce pet overpopulation and ensure that every animal has the opportunity for a safe and healthy life.

Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization, is not a private foundation, and is in good standing with the IRS, the California Secretary of State, and the California Department of Justice.

As one of the few providers of affordable veterinary care in the Sierra foothill region, Animal Outreach plays a critical role in helping families access essential services while preventing pet overpopulation and reducing the number of animals entering local shelters.

FACILITY EXPANSION

In response to growing community demand, Animal Outreach has purchased a new building that will expand our facility from 5,446 square feet to 11,100 square feet.

Access to affordable veterinary care has become increasingly limited for many families in rural and foothill communities. Rising veterinary costs and limited clinic availability have made it difficult for pet owners to obtain essential services such as spay and neuter surgery, vaccinations, and preventative care. As a result, local shelters and rescue organizations are experiencing increased demand for support services and intake assistance.

The expansion of our new Animal Care Center will allow Animal Outreach to significantly increase our capacity to serve animals and families across the region.

The new facility will enable us to:

  • Hire a second veterinarian and additional support staff
  • Increase spay and neuter capacity from 7,600 to more than 12,000 surgeries annually
  • Expand access to affordable veterinary care
  • Full discounted dental services for dogs and cats
  • Extend services to neighboring counties
  • Provide lifesaving care to more animals each year
  • Strengthen the region's animal welfare infrastructure

VISION FOR THE FUTURE

As demand for affordable veterinary care continues to grow, Animal Outreach is positioned to become a regional leader in community-based animal welfare.

Our expanded facility will allow us to significantly increase lifesaving veterinary services, reduce pet overpopulation, and ensure that families throughout Northern California can access essential care for their pets.

Help Build the New Animal Outreach Shelter

Every year, Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode rescues animals who have been abandoned, neglected, or simply have nowhere else to go. These animals deserve safety, care, and the chance to find loving homes. To save more lives and better serve our community, we are building a new shelter. In December, Animal Outreach purchased a building that will become our future animal shelter. Renovations begin in May, transforming the space into a safe, welcoming facility designed specifically for animal care and adoptions. This new shelter will allow us to: Care for more homeless animals Provide healthier, safer housing Expand adoption and community programs Create a space where animals and families can find each other But we cannot do it alone. Every donation helps turn this building into a lifesaving sanctuary for animals in need . Your support will help fund the renovations, equipment, and improvements needed to create a shelter where animals can heal, families can adopt, and second chances begin. Together, we can build a place where animals are safe, cared for, and loved. Please join us in creating a brighter future for animals in our community.
