Background
Schizophrenia is one of the global public health problems include Indonesia. Based on the WHO report (2023), the estimated number at global are 24 million or one out of 300 people (WHO, 2022). While, based on Basic Health Survey (2018), the number of household members with schizophrenia or psychosis in Indonesia is 6.7 per 1.000 (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2019).
Since 2020 to 2024, Lentera Kesehatan Nusantara Foundation (YLKN), a non-profit organization with support from Johnson and Johnson through Give2Asia developed community based mental health (Schizophrenia) and showed significant strides and already yielded impressive results. More than 600 PWS have benefited from the support systems developed by the foundation. Key achievements include: treatment compliance among PWS has exceeded 80%, a remarkable improvement of over 40% from previous levels.
In order to sustain its successes, in 2025 YLKN committed to strengthening 1000 caregivers by providing the capacity of them to support PWS.
