WITNESS

WITNESS is an international organization that trains and supports people using video to protect and defend our human rights. We provide training, tools, and resources to activists and communities filming abuses worldwide, enabling them to use video safely, ethically, and effectively to create human rights change.
We also advocate for changes in the larger systems in which people use video - including international justice systems, consumer technology platforms, and mainstream media - to shift power, shape policies and demand systems-level change.
Using our techniques and global network, our partners have documented evidence of war crimes, changed discriminatory laws, secured justice for survivors of gender-based violence, and protected indigenous lands against extractive industries. For as long as there are abuses, WITNESS helps people using video and technology to protect and defend their human rights.
