Since 2007, West Place Animal Sanctuary has provided care, love, and a permanent home to farm animals rescued from abuse, neglect, and cruelty cases. We are also a licensed wildlife rehabilitation facility, helping sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife and releasing healthy animals back into their natural habitats. West Place also serves as the lost dog shelter for the towns of Tiverton and Little Compton.
Although we serve all of Rhode Island and much of southern New England, West Place receives no Federal or state funding. We rely on the generosity of donors to provide lifelong care to our permanent residents while continuing to accept animals in their times of need.
Relying on a robust network of volunteers and student interns, West Place provides care 365 days per year. We provide unique hands-on humane education experiences to high school and college students to cultivate a more compassionate community.
