Stop Elderly Scams

Founded in 2023, Stop Elderly Scams was born out of a deeply personal experience. My own elderly mother was targeted and scammed, leaving her not only financially harmed but also emotionally shaken. Watching her confusion, shame, and loss made me realize how vulnerable seniors are — and how few resources truly exist to prevent scams before they happen.

Every day, seniors across America fall victim to fraud. According to the FBI, older adults lose billions of dollars annually to increasingly sophisticated scams: phone calls pretending to be grandchildren, fake emails from banks, fraudulent tech support, romance scams, and even impostors posing as government officials. These crimes don’t just steal money — they rob seniors of dignity, independence, and peace of mind.

At Stop Elderly Scams, we believe the best way to fight back is through education, awareness, and empowerment. Our mission is simple yet powerful: To educate seniors, families, and communities about the warning signs of scams and give them the tools to protect themselves.
