I had a personal experience volunteering with the Richmond, Ky chapter. One in particular stood out was a bunk bed I helped build. After we were done, the little girl climbs onto the top bunk ecstatic and happy, then standing up with her hands to the ceiling started singing "I believe I can fly", The lady on our team joined in, and the joy on her face, and everyone's in that moment, said it all. Seeing that moment hooked me - this is what Sleep in Heavenly Peace is all about: giving kids more than a bed, giving them hope. D. Borders
