Running With Purpose | Cape Town 2027 for Shoe4Africa

Raised
$350
Goal
$4,500

I’m a wife, a mom of two, a healthcare executive, and a marathon runner. But more than anything, I live with gratitude, purpose, and the belief that what we’ve been given is meant to be shared.

Running has become one of the ways I live that out. It has taught me that we are often stronger than we think. That difficult seasons don’t last forever, and that sometimes the only thing you can do is put one foot in front of the other and keep going. Running has carried me through seasons of loss, joy, growth, and transformation. And with every finish line, I’ve gained a deeper appreciation for what it means to simply have the ability to keep moving forward.

That gratitude is at the heart of why I give back.

My career has been dedicated to rare disease and oncology, where I’ve had the privilege of seeing both the extraordinary possibilities of medicine and the realities of what happens when people don’t have access to those possibilities. Behind every diagnosis is a person, a family, and a story. That has shaped how I see the world and strengthened my belief that geography or circumstance should never determine who has access to care, opportunity, or hope.

That’s why Shoe4Africa is deeply personal to me. Running, gives me an opportunity to take something that has given so much to me and use it to give something back. Every mile becomes bigger than a race, a medal, or another finish line. It becomes an opportunity to create hope and possibility for children and families who deserve both.

Because in the end, the miles may tell my story, but the lives touched along the way give the journey its meaning.
