Running Cape Town to Build Africa's 1st Kids' Hospital

Raised
$500
Goal
$3,000

This cause strikes a deeply personal chord within me. Cancer has heavily impacted my own family—my aunt passed away from the disease at a tragic, early age. Losing her so young was a devastating reminder of how precious life is, and how heartbreaking it is to see a beautiful soul lose their future.

Now, as a mother of a 2-year-old boy, that heartbreak cuts even deeper. Watching my own son grow and explore the world makes me realize just how fragile and precious these early years are. If enduring the loss of an adult is devastating, seeing cancer happen to a child whose life has barely even begun is an injustice I simply cannot ignore. No young soul should have their future stolen before they've had the chance to live it.

💔 The Reality We Are Changing

Right now, we face one of the greatest disparities in global health. In many Western countries, children with cancer have access to specialized care, resulting in survival rates as high as 90%. But in sub-Saharan Africa, there is still not a single dedicated children's cancer hospital, and 9 out of 10 children diagnosed will not survive.

I am running the Cape Town Marathon with Team Shoe4Africa to change these odds.

🏗️ Our Mission: Turning Miles into Hope

Together, we are working to raise $3,000 to help construct sub-Saharan Africa's very first children's cancer hospital in Kenya. Supported by marathon legends like Eliud Kipchoge, Paula Radcliffe, and Benson Kipruto, this life-saving facility will ensure vulnerable kids get the specialized treatment, care, and future they rightfully deserve.

Every contribution goes directly toward breaking ground, building walls, and providing:

  • Critical medical infrastructure for pediatric oncology.
  • Specialized care and treatment programs to improve survival rates.
  • A foundation of hope for thousands of children and their families.

I am incredibly proud to put my steps toward rewriting the future for these children. Thank you so much for following along, supporting this vital cause, and cheering me on to the finish line!
