We are New Harvest, the cellular agriculture nonprofit. We’re growing meat, milk & eggs from cells instead of animals.

New Harvest was founded in 2004 to support the development of cultured meat (AKA “lab-grown meat”) and other cell culture-based foods. 

Our mission is to ensure cellular agriculture delivers on its promises to create a more equitable & sustainable food system by ending our dependence on animal agriculture. 

We fund public research and industry-wide initiatives to accelerate scientific breakthroughs and steward this tech toward making the world a better place.

Food Link is working to create a more equitable food system throughout Greater Boston by rescuing and distributing high-quality, customized food to under-resourced communities and by advocating for systems change.

Through our work, we build relationships, respond nimbly to opportunities, and prioritize the choice and autonomy of recipient agencies and their clients, thereby centering dignity for all.

Food Link is the bridge between distributors and farms that have the capacity to donate fresh surplus food and community organizations that seek nutritious food for people who are in need.

We bring together volunteers, programs, and clients to improve the community. Over 250 Food Link volunteers work together to rescue food and bring it to community organizations in the area.

We give small mills everything they need to add vital nutrients into the food that millions of malnourished people eat the most.

Sanku combats hidden hunger and saves lives by giving small mills the tools needed to fortify maize flour, an East African staple. Our mission: Guarantee that every meal consumed by every mother & child contains vital nutrients, forever. 

Worldwide, 8,000 children die every day and 2 billion suffer from preventable illness because their diets lack basic vitamins and minerals. Fortification (adding life-saving micronutrients to processed foods) is the most cost-effective nutrition intervention, but it has failed to reach the 6.5 billion people in developing countries who rely on small, often rural, mills for most of their food.

Sanku developed a technology and business model to enable the small mills that feed the most malnourished people to conveniently and affordably fortify staple grains. Our technology adds precise levels of nutrients into flour during processing and our business model leverages economies of scale to offset any additional costs for millers and their customers, providing Sanku with revenue margins that increase as we scale. We are currently reaching 3 million East Africans with the basic human right of nutritious food and have a plan to reach 100 million this decade, which will prevent millions from death and disease, boost productivity, and save billions of dollars in GDP.  

A donation of ~$1 is enough to give one person access to nutritious food for an entire year, so even a small donation can go a long way in the fight against malnutrition.

Better Lives Rhode Island

Nonprofit organization focused on food, agriculture, and nutrition. It is based in Providence, RI. Since 1982.

Since 1982, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank has been distributing millions of pounds of food to those in need of assistance through our network of member agencies across the state.

To meet the demand, the Food Bank solicits food donations from the public and from the food industry, including supermarkets, food manufacturers and growers. The Food Bank also purchases food at low cost from wholesalers.

Equipped with a 77,000-square-foot facility, a fleet of trucks and a professional staff, the Food Bank safely and efficiently moves more than 200,000 pounds of food out its doors each week.
