Western Resource Advocates provides on-the-ground solutions to climate change. 

WRA has three main program areas that encompass our work: Clean Energy, Healthy Rivers, Western Lands. Our work is throughout the intermountain West, including 7 states - Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Wyoming and Montana. 

We envision... 

Western rivers and lakes will have abundant clean water to support habitat for fish and wildlife, communities and agriculture, and world-class recreational opportunities. The Colorado River will flow to the sea. 

Our homes, buildings and transportation systems will be powered by clean energy. The West will prosper in a zero-carbon economy. 

Half of western landscapes and habitat will be protected and connected to support thriving wildlife populations and unparalleled opportunities to enjoy the West’s natural beauty. 

The West will have clean air and clean water to support healthy communities and vital habitat.

Penguins International is a non-profit organization committed to preserving and protecting penguins around the world. To accomplish this mission, we actively engage in penguin conservation, we educate the public on threats to penguins, and we conduct scientific research investigations to understand penguin biology and best methods for conservation, three activities that go hand-in-hand to fully understand these amazing species of birds and protect them for all to cherish.

We give students in grades 8-12 the opportunity to learn about the principle of ethical leadership from inspiring nonprofit leaders. Students discover the complexity of global challenges by working and learning alongside our trusted partners while immersed in the communities they serve.

Since 2004, Build Change has safeguarded more than $1.8 billion in housing infrastructure assets across Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia Pacific, improving the lives of over 600,000 people and building new or retrofitting more than 100,000 buildings. ASES is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused organization advocating for renewable energy in the United States.

ASES is the leading solar energy advocacy organization in the United States and believes that knowledge and community are a powerful combination for change. ASES is an integral part of the nation’s grassroots solar energy network with over 20,000 members across the country, many of whom are the leading national and international experts in the solar energy field. ASES manages the National Solar Conference and the National Solar Tour. It also implements solar demonstration projects around the nation. Through signature publications such as Solar Today magazine and Solar@Work newsletter, ASES fosters an informed, inclusive society by presenting technical data and academic research to the greater community.

Historic Boulder Inc. is a nonprofit founded in 1972 to save historic buildings in Boulder Colorado.  We save places that matter. 

Historic Boulder was born following a battle to save precious pieces of Boulder’s past. Highland School, the Union-Pacific Depot and Central School were all threatened with demolition in 1971. Historic Boulder, organized in 1972, was instrumental in saving Highland School (shown at right) and the depot. Sadly, Central School was demolished. Out of this experience rose the urgency for a legal mechanism to protect historic sites. It became clear that Boulder needed a local government mechanism for this, and to oversee and the administration of a local landmarking process. Historic Boulder drafted a historic preservation ordinance, which was unanimously voted into place by City Council unanimously adopted in 1974. To this day, Historic Boulder collaborates with the Landmarks Board and City Preservation Staff to support their mission to preserve and protect the historic, architectural, and environmental assets that contribute to Boulder’s unique sense of place.  

Education is at the core of our public programming because an informed society is an empowered society. The public programs below enable Historic Boulder to foster the spirit and promote the benefits of preservation:

- Lecture series for Preservation Month in May
- History Hikes and tours year round.
- Annual secondary student essay contest on historic preservation.  
- Meet the Spirits historical reenactment at Columbia Cemetery every other October (Even years)
- Ghost Walk/Ghost Talk tour in October every other October (Odd years)
- Homes for the Holidays Tour of historic houses every December
- Walking tour App highlighting the history of early African American residents
- Mid-Century Modern Architecture Tour in development 

Historic Boulder advocates both on behalf of historic structures and has standing to initiate local landmarking applications.  Most recently, Historic Boulder has successfully  advocated for the landmarking of the Atrium Building, the Marpa House, the Dushanbe Teahouse (interior and exterior).  

Historic Boulder holds easements on several buildings - commercial and homes - in town and maintains an easement inspection program to assure the maintenance of their historic features.  These include the Boulder Theater, with which we are partnering as a fiscal sponsor to assess and rehabilitate the iconic Art-Deco facade.  

Historic Boulder is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary this year - 2022 - with a series of events highlighting our People, our Partners and our Projects over the past five decades.
