Our Mission: An Oasis of Stability in Haiti's Crisis

In a country where headlines speak of collapse, Schools for Haiti is writing a different story—one of perseverance, progress, and profound hope. While hunger, violence, and systemic failure force thousands of schools to close, we stand as a rare, unwavering beacon for children and their communities.

Our mission is straightforward but powerful: to deliver nourishment, education, and dignity every single day, no matter the circumstances. We don't just run schools; we build lifelines.

How We Achieve This Mission: A Model Built on Stability

We achieve this through a holistic model that addresses the core barriers keeping Haitian children in poverty:

• We Guarantee Education: We operate 10 campuses, providing 2,246 students with a high-quality education, all necessary supplies, and a safe, well-equipped classroom. At a time when fewer than 3 in 10 Haitian children finish primary school, we are ensuring learning never stops.
• We Fight Hunger: Hunger is the number one barrier to education. Last year, we served 447,000 meals and delivered 105,000 holiday meals to families during breaks. Our students don’t have to choose between an empty stomach and a full mind.
• We Create Dignified Employment: We employ over 250 Haitians—teachers, cooks, janitors, and security—providing purpose and stable income in an economy with 70% unemployment. We rebuild from within.
• We Remain Open, No Matter What: In a nation paralyzed by instability, all 10 of our schools in the Montrouis/St. Marc region have never closed. When others are forced to leave, we press in. We are the constant in our students' lives.
