School on Wheels, Inc.
The mission of School on Wheels is to enhance educational opportunities for children who are experiencing homelessness from 5-18.
School on Wheels provide free tutoring and mentoring to 2,000 students annually. They work with children from kindergarten through twelfth grade, living in shelters, motels, vehicles, group foster homes, and the streets of Southern California. Volunteer tutoring is the cornerstone of their program. Volunteers are trained and matched with students in person or online, and they then meet with their students every week to provide positive mentorship and educational assistance.
