EXPO Zine

EXPO is a print publication for restaurant workers, by restaurant workers, about life in the service industry, based in DC and focused on the surrounding DMV area.

Tens of thousands of people work in the restaurant industry in DC, yet our voices are rarely heard. We are particularly vulnerable to exploitation, as 20% are immigrants, 17% live below the poverty line, and less than 2% are unionized. Our opponents — restaurant owners and their profit interests — have hundreds of millions of dollars to pour into suppressing worker rights. Most of us make less than the minimum wage.

EXPO will be sold directly in local shops, bookstores, and online. In order to maximize outreach to workers, we need your help!
