Earthquake Emergency in Indonesia | The First 72 Hours
- Raised
- $285
- Goal
- $150,000
We are raising 150,000 USD to reach families left outside after the earthquake in Indonesia. We do not buy supplies once a quake happens. They sit on a warehouse rack before any gift arrives, which is how they catch the first aircraft out.
Each family package includes:
- Clean drinking water and a container to keep it in.
- Blankets for the cold hours before dawn.
- Ready to eat food for a kitchen nobody can light.
- Essential medicine, including the tablets people leave behind under rubble.
- Formula and infant care for the youngest.
- Tarpaulin and rope where a roof has gone.
How your contribution helps:
- 15 USD covers clean water and a container for one family.
- 45 USD covers one family's full three day package.
- 150 USD carries three families through the first three days.
- 450 USD carries ten families through the first three days.
- 1,500 USD carries a neighbourhood cluster of thirty three families.
Why three days?
Illness begins where clean water stops. Infants and older people lose their body heat quickest. Small injuries turn septic. What happens in three days sets the rest.
The night word arrives, the load goes onto a flight manifest. Customs, the domestic leg and the final run out to the village all close well before three days are out.
You will see where it landed.
A photograph, a date and a place go to the donor panel for every handover, and that record stays open to you long afterwards.
Give today. Your gift reaches a family within 72 hours, and the handover is photographed the same evening.
