Clovis Severe Storm & Flash Flood Emergency Relief

Families in Clovis, New Mexico are facing the impact of severe storms, dangerous flash flooding and tornado warnings that have disrupted homes, roads, transportation and critical local infrastructure.

The City of Clovis reported more than 40 calls involving stranded or disabled vehicles during the flooding. Damage assessments conducted with the Red Cross indicated that at least 9 homes were affected. Floodwater also reached Clovis Regional Airport, submerging the runway and temporarily closing airport operations while conditions and debris were assessed.

For families living through this emergency, the impact continues after the rain begins to stop. Food and household essentials may need to be replaced. Wet homes require cleanup. Transportation problems can affect work, medical appointments and access to basic necessities.

Our humanitarian work includes flood and severe weather response, wildfire emergencies, earthquake and volcanic disaster relief, emergency food and safe water, shelter and household recovery, education support, assistance for children and vulnerable people, health related needs, animal welfare and humanitarian logistics.

Where practical, we prioritize local procurement. Purchasing essential supplies close to the affected community can shorten delivery times, reduce unnecessary transportation costs and support local businesses that are themselves part of the recovery process.

Every donation carries responsibility. We seek to maintain clear records showing what assistance was provided, where resources were directed and what humanitarian need they were intended to address.
