Give Medical & Food Aid to Survivors families in Eastern DRC

Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo is currently facing one of the most severe humanitarian crises in recent years. The resurgence of armed violence, notably marked by the capture of the cities of Goma and Bukavu by M23 rebels, has thrown thousands of families into chaos. These clashes have led to massive looting, the death of many civilians, and the forced displacement of entire populations fleeing to save their lives. Have a look on this Youtube Video The situation has worsened with the closure of the Goma and Kavumu airports, cutting off Eastern DRC from essential humanitarian corridors. As highlighted in a recent United Nations appeal (UN News, February 2025), reopening these airports would provide a crucial “lifeline” for populations in distress. Additionally, the suspension of banking services in the region has prevented families from accessing their financial resources. This measure has deepened the economic paralysis and further increased the vulnerability of already struggling communities. The humanitarian consequences of this war are devastating. Attacks have taken place in densely populated areas, directly exposing civilians to crossfire and explosions. Many people, trapped in their homes, have been wounded by stray bullets or bomb fragments. The number of people living with disabilities continues to rise due to a lack of proper medical care. Many suffer from severe physical injuries without access to rehabilitation or support, often living in neglect and social exclusion. One only needs to walk a few kilometers through conflict-affected areas to witness this silent suffering. Moreover, women and girls are among the hardest hit. Sexual violence is being used as a weapon of war, destroying lives and tearing apart the social fabric of communities. These survivors often stigmatized or silenced are in desperate need of medical, psychological, and legal support, which remains largely unavailable. In the face of this critical situation, the New Hope Reconciliation Center (NHRC) is launching an urgent appeal for international solidarity. We are conducting a fundraising campaign to assist the families affected by the violence and to provide them with support tailored to their essential needs. With your contribution, we will be able to provide: Medical assistance for 478 wounded and people with disabilities, Psychological support for 273 women and girls victims and survivors of sexual violence, Nutritional aid for 700 vulnerable families. This aid is not just necessary it is vital. Thousands of people are living without access to healthcare, food, or shelter, in extreme misery. Local structures are overwhelmed and unable to meet the immense needs. Your donation, whatever the amount, can save a life, ease a suffering, and bring a glimmer of hope where everything seems lost. By supporting this initiative, you become a part of the change, of peacebuilding, and of the long road to recovery. Together, let’s act now to restore dignity and a future to these families.
