WHCC is a no-audition community choir, one of a handful in NYC and the only one serving Upper Manhattan. We're a lively, diverse, and welcoming group that loves to sing and believes in the power of music to spread joy and build community!

BUILDING A LASTING FOUNDATION
Founded by a local church in 2016, we disbanded in May 2022 due to budget cuts but quickly regrouped and reestablished the choir as an independent nonprofit. Now two years strong, we aim to become a lasting part of our community.

Sixteen years ago, while attending school in Santa Barbara, I lost my home to a wildfire. The experience was devastating—not just the physical loss but the overwhelming task of rebuilding. When the immediate crisis passed and the world moved on, I was still navigating the emotional and financial fallout, trying to find stability while everything around me kept moving forward.

I was lucky. I had the support of my friends and family to help me through that time. And when I finally picked up my camera again, I realized that storytelling wasn’t just my career—it was my way of making sense of everything. Creating films became a healing process, a way to take control of a narrative that had felt completely out of my hands. That experience shaped me, and it’s why I started **Ashes to Films**—because I know what it feels like to lose everything, and I know how powerful it is to rebuild through creativity.

I don’t want filmmakers who’ve lost everything to feel like their artistic dreams have been destroyed along with their belongings. **Ashes to Films** is here to make sure that doesn’t happen. Through direct funding, mentorship, and an annual festival, we give filmmakers the opportunity to reclaim their voice, tell their stories, and prove that creativity doesn’t have to die in disaster—it can thrive.

c89.5 is listener-supported public radio, playing uplifting dance music and providing career-connected learning for our students.

c89.5 is a listener-supported, non-commercial radio station owned by the Seattle Public Schools and operated by professional adult staff and students in the electronic media program at Nathan Hale High School. The station is almost entirely self-funded: over 87% of its operating revenue comes from listener donations and local businesses.

Over 150,000 listeners throughout Puget Sound tune to c89.5 every week for a diverse range of music celebrating individual differences and focusing on the joy in life. The station reaches a broad range of listeners, with a high concentration in both the 18-24 and 45-54 age ranges. Over 30% of c89.5 listeners identify as LGBTQ+.

c89.5 supports the personal and professional growth of our students, giving them the skills and confidence to succeed in careers in media and other professions. Our students gain practical experience in digital media production, public speaking, and professional presentation. Many of our alumni have gone on to careers in journalism, radio, television, and digital media.

The station is also a pioneer and worldwide leader in dance music, monitored by Neilsen and by MediaBase, and one of eight stations tracked for the Billboard Dance chart.

The Verbier Festival Friends Associaton was launched in 1993, when a group of music-loving donors was inspired by the idea of a two-week festival of classical music in the Swiss Alps in Valais. The Founder & Director Martin Engstroem calls his Verbier Festival "a waking dream"— a dream that would not have been realised without the consistent generosity and personal commitment of the Friends. Their support for the Festival as a whole, and notably for its learning programmes and major artistic projects, has been crucial to its rise to the top: the Verbier Festival is now one of the world's most renowned classical music events, blazing a trail into the 21st century.

Each donation made to The Friends of the Verbier Festival fund at Myriad (ex-KBFUS) is subject to a 5% administrative fee. These fees constitute costs to Myriad to administer donations made to the VF Friends Association; they total less than it would cost to operate a U.S. chapter of the Friends Association as a separate 501-C3 entity. The Association is nevertheless grateful to donors willing to top-up their donations by 5% to cover these fees.

The Verbier Festival is an international classical music event that takes place each summer in the mountain town of Verbier, Switzerland. The Festival's mission is to build a community of exchange between great masters and young artists from all over the world and to be a leader in its field by providing meaningful music education programmes.

Launched in 1994, and now globally renowned, the Festival welcomes audiences with a distinctive and exhilarating blend of events, both large-scale and intimate. Set in the scenic mountain region of central Portugal, the annual  Bendada International Music Festival  (Bendada, Portugal) is a classical music festival that empowers young artists to fulfill their musical talent. Founded by Dr. Inês Andrade and Dr. Edoardo Carpenedo in 2016, the BIMF is an entrepreneurial effort to revitalize the interior of Portugal using music, arts, and education as a medium to bring culture, local pride, and economic growth back into rural areas. The Festival started as a five-day summer music festival in July 2016. Since then, it has grown into a year-round project, attracting students, artists, and audiences worldwide. The festival concerts and cultural activities take place in the Beiras, the interior region of Portugal, as well as curated events in Portugal's main cities of Lisbon and Porto, and the United States. Now in its twenty-eighth year of operation, ARC is the largest and most important popular music collection in the world – with over three million sound recordings and approximately four million  photographs, books, press kits, videos, memorabilia and related ephemera.   Our simple goal is to guarantee that the world’s musical heritage is preserved for future generations to study and enjoy.     We believe that all forms of popular music, jazz, be-bop, bluegrass, country, rock, rap, blues, enka, reggae, calypso, zydeco, and countless other forms are significant cultural expressions. American Piano Awards supports America's next world-class jazz and classical pianist. We are America's piano competition. 

The mission of the American Piano Awards is to discover, promote and advance the careers of young, American, world-class jazz and classical pianists. We celebrate the beauty of music through America’s premiere jazz and classical awards. The American Pianists Awards are a biennial competition that rotates between a jazz and classical focus. The Awards span 18 months and culminate in a final performance where a winner is announced. The grand prize is valued at over $200,000 and includes a cash prize, career assistance, a record contract, and artist representation. This prize is one of the largest awards for a classical artist and the biggest for jazz. Our finalists and winners have gone on to build careers as renowned soloists and educators as well as receive critical acclaim and awards like Grammys, Emmys, and Avery Fischer Career Grants. Our pianists also inspire the next generation of musicians and music lovers through our Concerto Curriculum program. The Concerto Curriculum is a three-day high school residency in Indianapolis area high schools that culminates in a joint public performance with students.

Lerici Music Festival, an annual classical music festival located on the stunning Italian Riviera.

A classical music festival inaugurated in Summer 2017 by international orchestra conductor Gianluca Marcianò, a native of the town of Lerici set on the stunning bay known as the Gulf of Poets. Until 2020 the festival was known as Festival Suoni dal Golfo and then changed its name to the more easily remembered Lerici Music Festival. Over its first 7 years the festival has grown, attracting an audience of international music lovers and realising the vision of the founder in several aspects:
* to bring beautiful music to a town renowned for centuries for attracting writers, artists and composers such as Byron, Percy Bysse Shelley and his wife Mary Shelley (the castle in Lerici inspired her novel Frankenstein), D. H. Lawrence, Wagner, Virginia Woolf and many Italian writers.
* to develop the careers of new, young Italian and international soloists
* to bring international musicians to work side-by-side with emerging talent
* to bring together people of diverse nationalities, cultures and background using music as common ground
* for young orchestral musicians to reach the local residents with open rehearsals, street music and outreach. 
The aim of the Festival has, through its spirit of inclusion, become a constant in the European Festival schedule and its ultimate dream is to create a small concert hall for the town. Performances take place in squares, villas, nearby villages and Lerici town hall and new venues are annually sourced to give the best environment possible to each programme.

An ambitious summer festival, taking place in a 500-seat theatre overlooking a glorious valley in the English Cotswolds. 

Longborough Festival Opera (LFO), a now internationally-recognised summer opera festival with wide-reaching education programmes, has a remarkable story with humble beginnings. Set in the quintessentially English Cotswolds, and sharing the same county as the country residence of HM King Charles III, it was founded by a man who had no formal musical education, who listened to Beethoven while working on a building site. It has grown into an established opera company, with a summer festival in a purpose-built theatre which has its own humble beginnings – as an agricultural chicken shed.

Longborough punches well above its weight, achieving many times over what others have not even attempted:  in 2013, a full-scale production of Wagner's Ring Cycle established the Festival as a destination for Wagnerians in the UK and abroad, becoming the first ever (and as yet the only) UK festival to stage a full Ring Cycle. A new Ring culminated in another full cycle in 2024, thus also racking up the extraordinary achievement of having produced two new productions of this epic work in just over a decade.  

The world’s leading magazine about opera, Opera Magazine, said of the Longborough Ring Cycle (August 2024): "No other "country house" opera company has risen to such a challenge, not even Glyndebourne… the stamina, the superb diction, the focused musicianship: all of these served as a model of the best this daring, innovative Ring cycle could produce."  

Our new strategy to 2030 is heavily influenced by some of the themes that we see in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg: learning, love, craftsmanship, community music-making, midsummer feast-days and philosophy of art. We will produce this opera for the first time in 2027, our 30th anniversary year of opera-making in this theatre. It also cements our historic connection with the work of Richard Wagner, taking inspiration from the composer which inspired the Festival in the first place.

Our vision is to be recognised as a bold, audacious company essential to the UK’s opera landscape, rooted in our community and our environment, fostering the best of British Wagnerian talent and the next generation of artists and audiences through its innovative festival and education programmes.

Stringendo is a 501c3 organization focused on the arts. It is based in Poughkeepsie, NY and received its nonprofit status in 2009.

Stringendo music school nurtures a diverse group of young string players to become passionate musicians and accomplished performers.  Through orchestra concerts and fiddle gigs, in private lessons and summer music camps, students cultivate life skills: the ability to listen, to lead and, above all, to work together to achieve the extraordinary.

Stringendo maintains a generous financial aid program, and no student is ever turned away due to financial need.   We work hard to extend services into areas that have been traditionally underserved, and our most recent partnership with students in the City of Poughkeepsie has been wildly successful. Our PK Strings group offers after-school classes and musical instruments to motivated students in Poughkeepsie’s elementary, middle, and high school grades, teaching the basics and providing transportation to Saturday classes and Summer Camp, as well as instruments and meals when needed.

Tuition is always kept affordable, well below "industry standard," to make string education accessible to all.   As a result, our Saturday Orchestra program, Tuesday Fiddle Program and Summer Camp attract students from all over the Hudson Valley and beyond.   Our student retention rate is extremely high and many of our older students volunteer as mentors/counselors to our younger students as part of our "morning helper" and "fiddle helper" programs.   Once graduated, many of our students return, either as teachers, camp counselors, workshop instructors, or as visiting alumni, creating a strong and vibrant community of string players at all ages and abilities.     Our goal is to continue to expand our reach, to be sure that any child interested in playing a string instrument has the resources and ability to do so.  Donations received will help us continue to provide the high caliber of string education Stringendo has become known for.

The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation (MHOF) was inspired by the acclaimed motion picture Mr. Holland’s Opus, the story of the profound effect a dedicated music teacher had on generations of students. The Foundation keeps music alive in our schools by donating musical instruments to under-funded music programs, and providing vital services to school districts nationwide, giving under-represented youth access to the many benefits of music education, leading them to success in school, and inspiring creativity and expression through playing music.

We help schools build music programs that are as diverse as the students they serve. Programs that are innovative, inclusive, and culturally meaningful to students . Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival's mission encompasses the mentoring of gifted international young classical musicians & singers.

The Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival was conceived by classical pianist and professor, Riccardo Cecchetti, its Artistic Director and President. Drawing on his experience as artistic and organizational consultant for classical musical initiatives in Spain and Italy, in 2016 Riccardo founded the Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival in Lucca, Italy.



From Cecchetti’s passion to create an opportunity made by musicians, to support musicians of the future, and to welcome classical music lovers from all over the world, the Festival quickly established itself as one of the most important initiatives dedicated to classical music in Europe.



The Festival’s groundbreaking proposal was based on three closely interrelated elements:



- Educational programs and master classes lead by prestigious international musicians;

- Competitions for the young participants of the Master Classes Program;

- Concerts given by visiting artists and the most accomplished students enrolled in the Festival.



These elements informed the creation of a program rich in public events offered in unique locations in Lucca and Tuscany, including concerts given by prestigious guest artists and some of the most talented young musicians from all over the world, as well as lectures, meetings with artists, and exhibitions and workshops, all in keeping with the musical mission of the Festival. 



Many of the most renowned musicians, worldwide, enthusiastically embrace our project including Alfred Brendel, Bruno Giuranna, Boris Berman, Imogen Cooper, Viviane Hagner, Kim Kashkashian, Alain Meunier, Claudio Bohórquez, etc.



The primary mission of the Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival is to promote and nurture talented young musicians. Winners of the Virtuoso & Belcanto competitions - all of whom are students of our courses - have launched prestigious careers. Among the many of them are, notably, the Leonkoro Quartet who won the 1st Prize in two of the most prestigious international competitions in 2022: the Concours International de Quatuor à Bordeaux and the International String Quartet Competition held at London's Wigmore Hall, earning 1st Prize and a collection of nine special awards, including interpretations, residencies, and concert prizes. The Leonkoro Quartet immediately embarked on an impressive international career.



The Festival, organized by the Association Virtuoso & Belcanto APS, has developed a profound network of international collaborators, important among which is the Populäre Konzerte Concerts Season at the Berlin Philharmonie, which has been held in Berlin for 66 years. Our collaboration with the Berlin Philharmonie brings the very finest of the young soloists selected from Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival to perform in the Philharmonie’s season's concerts, accompanied by the Sinfonie Orchester Berlin and in the world's most prestigious concert hall. Additionally, we collaborate with many other organizations throughout Europe such as the ORT (Orchestra della Toscana); Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti Napoli; and Nova Orchester Wien in Vienna: we anticipate establishing many more such collaborations. Over the years, twin festivals have already been established in Norway (Grimstad) and Spain (Osuna), and others are in the works, including in the United States.

Keys of Change aims to advance the lives of children and young people around the world through musical education and access to live classical music performances. The charity was set up in early 2011 by the international concert pianist Panos Karan, who works with three other trustees, all involved in music and/or education, and a growing number of committed volunteers in many countries.  ​ Over the past years, Keys of Change has brought classical music, often for the first time, to deprived or suffering audiences, in remote areas of the Amazon basin, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Kolkata and the tsunami-ravaged Fukushima area in Japan, as well as in Greece, Russia and London. Our music has brought alive emotions - fascination, happiness, tears of sadness – and generated hope and encouragement.  Wherever we go to perform, we also set up and fund musical education projects, working in conjunction with local music teachers. In Ecuador, we organise weekly guitar lessons for young people from deprived backgrounds. In Uganda and Sierra Leone, we have provided instruments and music lessons. In Fukushima and India, we have made regular visits to work with young musicians to improve their playing, and give them the opportunity to perform in joint concerts with Keys of Change musicians. In the case of Fukushima this culminated in the founding of the Fukushima Youth Sinfonietta, and organising for up to 50 young Japanese musicians to travel to London, to give a concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in April 2014, to Tokyo, performing at Tokyo Opera City in August 2015, and Symphony Hall, Boston, in April 2016.

The Tanging Yaman Foundation is a non-profit Philippine organization which bridges the generosity of countless Filipinos. 

Tanging Yaman Foundation, Inc. (Tanging Yaman), a non-profit Philippine organization, was established in 1992 when Fr. Manuel "Manoling" Francisco, SJ first performed his original liturgical music with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO). Almost every year, Fr. Manoling would perform with the PPO or the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra.

 

These concerts, entitled Tanging Yaman: Himig at Pananalig, graced the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the Meralco Theatre, the UP Theatre, and other major Philippine theaters. The concerts even went on tour to Batangas, Quezon Province, and Ifugao.

 

In addition to the orchestra, these Tanging Yaman concerts featured choirs like Bukas Palad, Hangad, Bungang Himig, Tinig Barangka, the Pansol Choir, and popular artists like Basil Valdez, Dulce, Ogie Alcasid, Ariel Rivera, Jamie Rivera, and Nolyn Cabahug. Apart from celebrating Filipino music and Filipino faith, the concerts also raised funds for institutions that build and nurture local communities.

 

Some of the beneficiaries of the Tanging Yaman concerts were have been the Sibol-Hesus School for gifted public school children of Mr. Onofre Pagsanghan; the Alagad ni Maria Youth Center in Infanta; the Quezonians Home for the Aged; the Kiangan, Ifugao Scholarship Fund; the Diocesan Seminary in Lipa, Batangas; Our Lady of the Pentecost Parish in Loyola Heights; Mary the Queen Parish in San Juan; the Ateneo de Manila High School Scholarship Fund; and the School of Living Tradition in Benguet.

2. The Next Stage Initiative: innovation behind and beyond the stage 

In 2021, FEDORA and Opera Europa launched  the Next Stage Initiative  to trigger change and recovery in the opera and dance field as a response to the shock of the pandemic on the sector. This initiative provides financial support and skills development to boost innovation through sustainability, inclusivity, and digital transformation.

The Next Stage Grants financially support projects that help create new industry standards and opportunities. Moreover, through the Next Stage Forums, professional development and trainings will be provided to management and artistic teams to boost knowledge sharing and peer-learning.  The first five recipients of the first edition of the Next Stage Grants were awarded this year. These transformative projects in the fields of opera and dance will drive innovation through sustainability, inclusivity and digital transformation. They involve 13 cultural organisations in 9 countries in Europe and were awarded €250,000, thanks to the support of a private foundation.

FEDORA - The European Circle of Philanthropists of Opera and Ballet

One of the most sought-after young artist programs in France 

This Paris-based opera company is dedicated to lyric repertoire from the mid-18th century to the present. Founded and directed by American conductor David Stern, it combines an ambitious young artists program and a versatile instrumental ensemble.  Opera Fuoco has been in existence since 2003 initially as a top-level period instrument ensemble and later as an internationally recognized young artist troupe.  David Stern, Katharina Wolff and the Fuoco team have developed a multi-faceted program to develop young vocal talent at a professional level.  Opera Fuoco offers a unique, custom-made experience to young singers transitioning from conservatory to professional life.  Singers are able to work with Maestro Stern, experienced vocal coaches and stage directors in various contexts ranging from masterclasses and recitals to large-scale performances with orchestra and fully staged opera productions. The repertoire spans not only several centuries but a variety of genres, from baroque to contemporary, including musical comedy and jazz.  Opera Fuoco has shaped its young artist program not as an academy but as a professional company for young singers engaged for a period of three to four years. In its 13 years of existence, Opera Fuoco's Young Artist Program has trained approximately 50 singers from 15 different countries. Our 15 current members come from 5 different countries, and candidates from the last round of auditions represented 34 nationalities. Opera Fuoco's activities are largely Paris-area based, with masterclasses held in prestigious spaces such as the Petit Palais and regular concerts at the Philharmonie de Paris and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. The company has also enhanced its international reputation by developing regular performance partnerships with the Bachfest in Leipzig, the Beethovenfest in Bonn, the International Telemann Festival, the Swedish Chamber Orchestra as well as the Shanghai Baroque and Beijing Music Festivals in China.

MY Arts Association for Cultural Support is an interdisciplinary non-profit organization founded in 2015 by Yury Revich. The project aims to develop a new format that unites a formal classical music concert with a multidisciplinary concert incorporating other art forms, known as the "Concert of Arts."

One of the main focuses of the organization is humanitarian work through the cultural tools.

In partnership with UNICEF, the organization is raising funds for projects like building schools and water systems. The project of MY Arts “Dreamland” successfully raised funds for providing 10 schools in Alepo with hygiene and water systems, campaign «COMIFAR & Friends per gli OSPEDALI» for 3 hospitals in Italy in cooperation with Comifar, UNICEF Emegerncy Funds, and most recently the Water Project in Malawi.

Supporting the young artists through the concept of “Concert of Arts” which is based on a synergistic and dialogical collaboration between music, visual arts, applied arts, theater, dance, and fashion, with the goal of opening new perspectives to hear art and see music.


We aim to connect young creatives with established artists, respecting tradition while also working on the concept of the multidisciplinary artist of the future. 

Our mission is to set new goals and remove limits on creativity and freedom of expression.

We view culture as a powerful tool for promoting sustainability values. We have successfully organized several projects featuring classical music, theater, dance, and film screenings.

The "**Music for Mental Health**" initiative is designed to bring the profound benefits of music to seniors in retirement and assisted living communities. Music is a powerful tool for enhancing mental health, cognitive function, and overall well-being. 
Our program offers a variety of musical experiences tailored to the needs and interests of elderly residents, aiming to create a vibrant and supportive environment where music can flourish.

Since 2001 **Culture Scholar** has been the brainchild of Benjamin Barnes. 
In addition to being the Director and CEO of Culture Scholar Corporation 501(c)(3), 
Ben is an instructor and performer who creates and teaches the *Culture Scholar Music for Mental Health* classes and concerts.

• Instruction from up to Ph.D. teachers 
• Performances at venues and festivals
• In-studio and home recording programs
