At VC United, we believe that every young athlete deserves the opportunity to pursue their passion for volleyball, regardless of financial circumstances.
In honor of Bill Messenger—a beloved father, mentor, and unwavering supporter of VC United—we proudly announce the establishment of the Let’s Go Scholarship: a scholarship designed to provide financial assistance to kids who dream of playing club volleyball but face financial barriers.

Honoring a Legacy: Bill Messenger, the “Let’s Go” of VC United

Bill Messenger was more than just a dedicated father—he was the heart and soul of VC United’s foundation. From the very beginning, Bill was one of the first to champion the vision of VC United, encouraging others in the volleyball community to believe in and invest in something greater than themselves.

To his three daughters, Bill was a hero—strong, selfless, and always lifting those around him. To the VC United family, he was a guiding light, ensuring that every player had the opportunity to succeed both on and off the court. His famous sideline cheer—“Let’s Go!”—became a rallying cry of encouragement and unity that we continue to carry with us.

In the fall of 2024, we lost Bill Messenger. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit and dedication to youth volleyball live on. The Let’s Go Scholarship will carry forward his legacy by making club volleyball accessible to those who may otherwise be unable to afford it.

The Let’s Go Scholarship: Breaking Barriers, Building Futures

Through the support of the League One Volleyball (LOVB) Foundation, the Let’s Go Scholarship will provide young athletes with financial assistance—covering club fees that often place competitive volleyball out of reach for many families.

With the Let’s Go Scholarship, we will:

• Honor Bill Messenger’s Legacy by continuing his mission of making volleyball accessible to all.
• Provide opportunity to athletes who are passionate about the game but face financial limitations.
• Grow the VC United Family by ensuring that talent and dedication—not financial hardship—determine a player’s ability to play.
