Dear Friends,

This week, we celebrate what would have been BUB’s 13th birthday. 13 has always been a lucky number for Mike and I. In honor of this auspicious birthday,  I want to remind you to celebrate yourself.

Though BUB has returned to her home planet, her spirit of resilience, caring for one another, and finding small delights in life, continues to inspire us from space.

BUB showed us that existing with a disability, even as a cat, can be filled with magic, joy, and endless possibilities.

Through our work, we spread BUB’s message of overcoming adversity and celebrating the unique qualities that make each of us special.

We know that caring for special needs pets not only benefits all companion animals, but also strengthens our communities by fostering empathy, kindness, and connection.

I am so thankful for each and every one of you who are a part of our community. I know I say it all the time, but your support and connection with our work truly changes lives, both human and animal for the better.

In honor of BUB’s birthday, I have a special request.

As always, our mission remains to advocate for special needs companion animals and build a community that cherishes the human-animal bond, especially for those pets and people most often overlooked among us.

To do this important work, and in honor of BUB turning 13, I invite all who are able to consider a recurring donation at $13 a month.

Recurring donors allow us to continue caring for those animals who are the most difficult to adopt and most expensive to care for. It also allows us to continue to provide access to care for special needs pets nationwide, partner with shelters and social service agencies to create special needs foster programs, and visit schools to promote kindness, empathy and inclusion by sharing BUB’s story.

While special needs pets continue to be overlooked often, we know their lives have value.

$13 dollars a month, helps us provide the care and support these worthy pets need and deserve.

Your support will help ensure that BUB’s legacy of love, science, and a little bit of magic continues to make a difference.
