Let's Help Sunshine Thrive!

This happy young lady has been through the wringer. Sunshine came to a rescue we work closely with from Texas, where she was shot (probably for sport) and then left paralysed on the side of the road. A local partner rescued her, and she had a fresh start with Little Black Dog Rescue. While with them, dragging her back legs (even when using her wheels!) resulted in frequent infections, eventually reaching the bone. We had to make the tough decision to amputate her back legs to improve her comfort level and quality of life. Moving forward, Sunshine will always need wheels to get around easily but she still doesn’t seem to have noticed she’s missing anything! She LOVES affection, pets, and being as close to any human or dog as possible. Sunshine deserves her happy ending and a forever home. We want to help get her there. No animal deserves the start to live that Sunshine endured.
