Help Erawan and pets like him get the care they need

Meet Erawan: His foster family describes him as the sweetest, snuggliest guy, with all the playful energy you’d expect from a kitten.

He just gets around a little differently.

Erawan was born with tibial agenesis, a condition that caused the bones in his back legs to develop incompletely. He uses his front legs to move through the world. When his local shelter reached out for a rescue willing to take on his medical needs, his rescue stepped forward.

That was the beginning of finding out what care could make his life more comfortable.

Working with a surgical specialist, Erawan’s rescue arranged a tail amputation and a procedure to help reposition his back paws. He’s recovering well, still snuggling, still playing. His care team is waiting to see how he moves once he’s healed before determining whether he needs additional surgery.

The goal isn’t to make Erawan move like every other cat. It’s to help him be comfortable and enjoy his life.

His care has cost $1,158 so far, with his future needs still being evaluated.

We’re hoping to raise $5,000 to help cover Erawan’s care and support other special-needs pets like him. Funds raised beyond what we provide for Erawan will help meet medical and access-to-care needs through Lil BUB’s Big FUND.

Because this work is about more than paying a veterinary bill. It’s about giving a rescue the support to take on a complex case. Helping someone afford the care that keeps their pet at home. Making sure a different body or an ongoing medical need doesn’t stand between an animal and a good life.
