Help A Sweet Senior Cat in Need: Meet Sweet Pea

Dear friends,
We want to tell you about Sweet Pea, a 13-year-old black cat who came into our trusted care partner after her person left the country.
For a senior black cat, that could have been the end of her story. Instead, thanks to the care and patience of House of Black Cat Magic and Binx’s Home For Black Cats, Sweet Pea was given time.
At first, she was grieving and terrified. She lunged from inside her kennel if anyone got too close. But with months of gentle socialization, Churu, quiet presence, and trust building, Sweet Pea slowly began to soften. She started asking for pets. She learned to tolerate other cats. She began to feel safe.
Now, Sweet Pea is loved, cared for, and still healing. She receives monthly arthritis shots, routine bloodwork, lots of wet food, and steady human interaction. Her vet has also recommended a dental procedure, which is important for her comfort and health, but it is not currently affordable.
Sweet Pea’s story is exactly why Lil BUB’s Big FUND exists.
Veterinary care is becoming harder and harder for families and rescuers to afford, especially for senior pets, disabled pets, and animals with ongoing medical needs. We believe this kind of care should not feel exceptional. It should be normal to treat pain, address dental disease, support aging bodies, and help people and organizations provide the care they can.
When you give, you help make that possible. You help keep pets comfortable, supported, and with the people working so hard to care for them.
And if giving is not possible right now, please know that you are still part of this work. Reading our emails, following these stories, sharing them, and staying connected all help normalize a world where animals like Sweet Pea are seen as worthy of care.
Thank you for being here with us.
With love,
The Lil BUB Family
