Help Young People Feel Safer at Their First Job

Hey everyone! Alyssa and Piper here. Recently, Piper and I were having a conversation at a women’s college basketball game about her future. Piper, who just recently turned seven years old, leaned over to me and said ‘someday I might want to work at a university or at a company that would allow me to be around basketball all the time because I love basketball!‘ It was in that moment I realized that my little girl would someday be an employee and I wanted her to be informed and ready for that passion-driven career. For her to do that, I want to make sure that her first job is both a positive and safe experience no matter what industry or sector or sport or environment she goes into. Lift Our Voices has taught me over the last year that it is so critical for first time employees to know the truth within the paperwork that you sign On a new job.
