**It Started With One Brother Trying to Protect His Sister**

Ladli Foundation was born from the lived experience of its founder, Devendra Kumar.

Abandoned at the age of two with his three-day-old sister, Devendra grew up surrounded by poverty, hardship and vulnerability. By the age of eight, he was working as a child labourer.

He knew what it meant to grow up without security.

He also knew what it meant to fear for the future of someone you love.

As his sister grew older, Devendra became determined to protect her from child marriage, dowry and the limitations often imposed on girls growing up in disadvantaged communities.

That determination became something much bigger.

It became Ladli Foundation.

What began as one brother’s promise to protect his sister grew into a movement working to help millions of people access dignity, education, healthcare and opportunity.

**We Go Where Opportunity Is Needed Most**

Our teams work directly with underserved communities, government schools, young people, women and families—often in places where opportunities remain limited.

We do not believe in one-time interventions.

We work to create pathways.

A girl learning about her health today can become a more confident woman tomorrow.

A student entering a computer lab for the first time can discover an entirely new career.

A young person learning digital and AI skills can move from uncertainty to employability.

A woman gaining livelihood skills can become financially independent.
