Kura Alliance is a 501(c)(3) public charity convening Indigenous spiritual leaders, scientists, physicians, healers, scholars, and philanthropic allies, building the institutional architecture for a new relationship between humanity, ancestral knowledge, and the living Earth.
Our purpose is to promote education and understanding of Indigenous knowledge systems while supporting Indigenous communities in preserving, accessing, and sharing their ancestral wisdom according to their own cultural protocols and self-determination. Through ethical research, educational programs, community advocacy, and cross-cultural dialogue, we bridge Indigenous and Western knowledge systems, celebrate Indigenous cultural heritage, and advance policies that recognize and protect Indigenous knowledge as valid scholarship and a valuable contribution to human understanding.
Kura Alliance is led by an intentionally heterogeneous circle: Indigenous leaders, academic researchers, medical professionals, community organizers, parents and caregivers, and legal and philanthropic allies. An Indigenous Leadership Council holds formal authority over all Indigenous-focused initiatives funded or coordinated through the Alliance, including scope, design, implementation, and reporting.
We are committed to transparent nonprofit governance, respect for Indigenous self-determination, cultural consent and protocol, responsible donor reporting, and long-term accountability to the communities and lands we serve.
